Trigger Fix Update

I dont think it was actually Jrich in that "sigma underwater" video, i think he just brought it to all our attention!

No, he went camping with a case of JD and said he was gonna do it, and some other test.

I did the trigger fix. I didnt notice much of a lightening of the trigger but I did notice less gritty feeling and more of a crisp break. Now that could be a result of the removal of the springs or could be a result of removing the grease that S&W warranty shop put in there.

Has anyone had any unsafe experiences with this "enhancement"?

Im not concerned so much with reliability bc I just shot this gun at the range. However, I am concerned with this thing randomly firing a round or somethin.

you did not feel the trigger get lighter? Clean the gun really good. Taking off those 2 springs lifts 5lbs off the trigger. If you are refering to the trigger pull distance then yes it does not reduce the pull distance.

someones got to make a video of them measuring the trigger pull on one of these 4-5 lb triggered sigma's....i gotta see it...hard to believe that that trigger can get to 4-5lbs and be 100% safe and reliable...
so prove me wrong..

Why? Glock, S&W, Walther, FN, etc. all make striker fired guns with triggers that break around 5lbs. And the original Sigma did not have that heavy of a pull either. The SW9VE was intentionally redesigned to have a heavier pull with heavier springs and a pig-tail spring. It is easily reversed.

well their sear designs are much different. Most, if not all of them really just release the striker...no rearward movement....
the sigmas sear on the other hand moves rearward just as much as it moves down to release the striker. So your moving the striker rearward through the trigger pull on the sigma, but on the M&P's, glocks, etc...all the sear does is get pulled straight down out of the way......

I understand getting the sigmas trigger alot smoother and a lighter pull is easy to do, ive done it...but to get a sigmas trigger to break at a true 4-5lb's is impressive if done...id love to see it...

EDIT: I wanted to come on here and just say i dont want noone thinking i think they are liars....I have worked my sigmas trigger exstensively and its averaging about 7.6 lbs in five pulls....id LOVE to see/hear how someone got theirs to 4-5lbs is all im saying!!

The trigger pull length does not change. Its the anount of force it takes to pull the trigger rearward, DUDE!

Why the "DUDE"?.....
I 100% agree that the trigger pull length doesn't change, what makes u think I thought it did?

"Someone should make video" How would that be any different from a new gun video? Yoy can't record how it feels. Thats what the "DUDE!! was about.
The trigger can be 1/2lb and its still as safe as a 10lb trigger as long as the tirgger is covered in a holster and not pulled. If you rest your finger on a trigger of a loaded gun, you don't really need to be owning a gun in the first place.

Lofl, DUDE, I want someone to make a video measuring trigger pull weight scale, not the length of the trigger travel.....lol... You have seen these tools before?

And I'm not saying all 4-5lb triggered guns are unsafe, and I agree with the last part you said....

If you have a hand held scale with a hook you weigh your fish on, its the same basic scale. Go to Wal-Mart they are $4.

I am looking to buy one of the digital trigger scales shortly. I won't make a video but I will post results with all the different springs in place.

Wow, I have a trigger scale, and yes you can use a fish scale in a pinch.

I don't think you understand what I'm wanting.....

I want whoever has a sigma, with a 4-5lb trigger pull, to use a trigger scale on video so we can see/proof....id also be very interested, if true, how they got it to 4-5lbs.
I think you even said your gun is 4lbs
If so, go buy that 4 dollar fish scale and make a video of you pulling the weight of your gun....easy

blkpitbull
I believe with the pigtail the outer spring removed, and a Wolff striker spring. The 4-5lb trigger can be achieved. I however not heard anything good in the way reliability about the lighter striker spring.

Yeah I've heard that removing that outer spring , plus the lighter striker spring, leads to light strikes and reset problems....no thanks
BTW am I really this confusing?

Yep the scale easy. I don't how ever have a vidoe camera or a camera for that matter, not even on my phone. I have a phone with a cord and a rotary dial. I see not reason to have more. My theory is if I am not home, I don't want to be on the phone. If someone calls and can't leave a messege, I probably don't wamt to talk to the anyway.
If you go buy me a video camera, i'll shoot the vid for ya.
