I picked up my "DZP" serial 15-22 on Thursday. Purchased from Bud's Gun Shop.

It's the prefix of the serial number.

Look on the label of the box, that will give you the model number. Look it up on S&W's web site and that will give the the exact model description.

How do you buy something and not know what you are buying/getting?

Hi all, Picked up my rifle a couple months back here in Florida. S/N DZP45XX. Non threaded barrel, non Magpul addition. Have put over 2000 rounds thru it without any misfires or failure to feed. Using bulk Federal ammo. Have upgraded various items and am absolutely IN LOVE with this weapon!! My husband does a good job in spoiling me; I have 14 extra magazines! Either that or he got tired of reloading mine at the range!!

That's my philosophy, too. I have 16 (11 long and four short) and much prefer to load them in the comfort of my living room, although when there's three of us shooting, it doesn't take long to empty all 16 of them. I may buy another 10 long for Christmas so I can load a whole box at one time.

barrel nut was not even hand tight. with the forend cap removed both barrel and forend were easily moved around. yay.
