Help me solve an argument: Does driving a Ford Crown Vic make me an old man?

Missus P&R Fan is irked at me. The other day a friend of mine called from the dealership he sells for and told me they had a '97 Ford Crown Victoria traded in with 67,000 miles on it. I could have it for Four Grand.:D
I immediately bought it, and now SWMBO is mad. She says it's an "Old People Car". Uh, no, Doll, it's a nice, comfortable, safe car. We had a '91 Grand Marquis and an '88 Lincoln Town Car. I loved 'em all. Now, it's only for the aged. I'm 47, she's 51. We're nowhere near old, although with my really cool gray hair I regularly get offered Senior Citizen Discounts, which I gladly accept as the Fiscal Conservative I am.
So, anyway, what do Ya'll think. Is this an "Old Peoples Car", or is she full of beans?
I'm sure all you LEOs out there can speak with some authority, as this is one of the classic patrol cars.
Help me out, so I can be vindicated.

Old Man Car, eh?

I drive mine too fast...Sometimes I even turn the 'Blues' on while I doing it! ;):D

Su Amigo,
Dave

Do you drive below the speed limit?

Not intentionally. A few years ago Iowa raised the speed limit on the Interstate to 70 MPH. I still drive for a half-hour at 65 MPH before I realize it.
These are great road cars. About a dozen years ago we were on a trip in Illinois and I was cruising down the interstate with the radar detector on in the '91 Grand Marquis. The speedometer only went to 85 MPH, and I had it pegged. I figured I was pushin' my luck so I took my foot off the gas. I watched the needle and it didn't move for several seconds. Dang, I musta been doing seriously into triple-digits. It was totally smooth at that speed, and steady as a rock.
To answer your question, no, I go the speed limit, sometimes slightly faster. Times have changed. I also don't try to "Ace" people out at stop lights anymore. I ain't old.........And I never intend to be either.

If that's an old man's car, then I must be old cause I've wanted to find a nice used one for many years now. Two came close, but I'm still looking. Sounds to me like you made a great deal!!:)

The girl is always right! So yup! Old guy.

I've driven one or two Crown Vic's. Nice cars, fast enough, stable, dependable. What's not to like? As Dave said, they are lots of fun when you flip on the lights and siren, too!

If she keeps giving you grief, show her this:

Wow, Those skirts are krazy. :D
