Maybe we will get some sane discussion of insanity and what the parents have to deal with. (I am not holding my breath).
 
Speaking of Bushmaster, I live in Maine, and on my way into work this morning some moron on the radio brought up that the assault rifle "USED" was from Bushmaster, and up until last year they used to be made in Maine. As far as I am aware the "assault rifle" was NOT used in the attack.

The murderer is dead so we cannot take out our rage on him. But The People feel that "something must be done!"

Legislation will be passed that will infuriate half the citizens because it is not restrictive enough and infuriate the other half because it is too restrictive. The root cause will not be addressed but The People will feel better and this will placate them.

Then Kim Kardasian or Lindsey Lohan will do something outrageous (Hey-look! Bright, shiny thing!) and this will be as forgotten as everything else that has meaning.

Mr. Know It All Bill O'Reily last night called it the "AK-15"! Twice until the guy he was interviewing corrected him. Them Mr. B"O said sorry that he was not a gun guy. Yet a second or two later he said he was a strong supporter of the 2nd. Then he said there was no reason to buy or own an AR-15 and why do you need or want one? He stated how the gun band works in Aussie land and also said that hand guns are allowed there! Excuse me but I don't think so, not like here anyway.

Yea, ok...then then why order Prime rib when a hamburger will do? Why buy a car that goes 180mph when the speed limit is 60? Why buy a BMW when a Honda Civic will do? Why why why??? BECAUSE WE CAN AND IT IS OUR RIGHT AND BECAUSE THEY ARE FUN TO SHOOT AND IT IS ABOUT THE SMALLEST CAL THERE IS TO VARMIT HUNT WITH AND THEY PROTECT MY FAMILY AND MYSELF. Bunch of people that removed their brain and replaced it with some fungus.

Do "They" really want to shut down a several billion dollar business that supports maybe a million employess or maybe 3 times that?

Bottom line is we ALL need to keep as cool as possible during this bash of off the wall news and not over react. The NRA is laying low until all this settles down.

I just heard the mayor of Chicago on the news this morning ranting about gun control. This idiot made the statement that 50% of all handgun sales were "straw sales" and that this is why all handguns should be banned because they were going into criminals hands.
This is what is being passed off as news!
 
Cajunlawyer: perhaps you can answer this question, with all the politicians talking about "outlawing" "assault weapons", and confiscating them and magizines , how would the government seize private property without compensation?
Is it the 4th or 5th amendment that deals with this, and how have the courts dealt with similar issues? Just asking? Where the heck would they come up with the $$$, they (we) are bankrupt now.
 
The way I understand it is the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with telling people what gun they can hunt deer with. According to Senator Fienstien you don't need a automatic rifle to shoot deer.


I believe the 2nd Amendment is to protect a free people from a repressive Government.

What "Shall not be infringed" doesn't Senator Fienstien understand?

The progressive's and liberals want to take away our guns but then send semi automatic weapons by the hundreds to drug dealers in Mexico.


You don't suppose they have some kind of sneaky plan to get better control over the Free People of the USA do you?

Have a look at Homicides.redeyechicago.com and add that to the ammo in discussion with restricted ownership advocates. It's a good source to quote, since the antigunners can't say it's biased or "NRA propaganda".

JOERM Referred to Bill O'wrongly talking about the Australian gun ban... Tell you what, home invasions and asian and biker gang activities stepped up to a new notch afterwards- I was there(16 yrs.) and had plenty of contact w/ veterans groups, LEO and Ambulance, in Queensland and NSW.So I got the real story, first hand. It was a Bad move. Handguns haven't been legal in many years, except for gun club & range use, some pig hunting, but very restricted. I couldn't get one for croc defense, had to carry a Baikal Double 12 w/ slugs, cause I couldn't get a .303 or 45-70 up where I was.
Woe betide the person who used a firearm to defend themselves.
