Senate votes to stop US from joining UN Arms Treaty

Statement of Purpose:
To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

A "Yea" vote to support the Second Amendment.

I am not surprised to see two "Nay" votes out of New York.:mad::mad:

Remember that the following democrats are up for reelection next year:
Al Franken (MN), Mary Landrieu (LA), they voted "NAY", they may not say anything publically about AWB, but in their hearts they want AWB.

These two need to be kicked out next year, they are against us!!!!

A lot closer vote than I would have expected. I don't care what you think about guns, I can't believe an American would condone doing anything these two-faced Marxists and militaristic oppressive dictatorship UN members say to do when they blatantly ignore the same agreements now.

It is startling that so many people would vote to allow the UN to interfere with our Constitutional rights.

Just sent this to one of your Florida Senators that got this one wrong:

Senator Nelson,

I am extremely disappointed in your vote to allow the UN to meddle in our Constitution. Until this vote you cast, I believed that you were a patriot and believed in the American way of life, not so sure now. For you to vote to allow the UN to hamstring our 2A Rights is just plain wrong.

I cannot imagine any situation whereas your vote could be good for the people you represent.

You should re-think your thought process on his matter and next time do what is good for the USA and our Constitutional Rights.

Thank You,

Senate votes to block UN Treaty. We should remember these guys who voted YEA.

U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote

Senators Bennett and Udall really did Colorado proud by voting to not defend the 2ndA. Bennett was elected to a full term in 2012 against what had to be the most mis-managed republican campaign in state history. Udall is up for reelection in 2014. The word is that he probably will have no real opposition and will get his job back. Hard to fathom the influence that the Denver/Boulder/Pueblo crowd has over a state as diverse as Colorado.

We all have our work cut out for us the 2nd amendment was not debated last election are the one before from now on we should insist that it is. We should all remember this that voted NAY and vote Nay for them. WE should also donate the cost of 1 box of shells to the NRA and to any one who runs against these NAY voters.
WSE should start to ask our politicians to pass laws to make sure that our 2nd amendment rights as well as all of our rights are protected .

Disappointed in that the "Vote" was this close.

Although the two Elected officials in this state were supporters of the 2nd Amendment it really surprises me that so many from so called Gun Friendly States had Senators voting against it, SD, Missouri,Montana just to name a few. Surprising and disappointing that these elected officials disregard their oath of office and do not vote the minds of the people they were elected to represent.
We need to thank those who did the right thing and expel those that did not! Seems pretty simple but is very complicated or is it?

Sadly, both Senators from my state voted Nay...good thing one of them isn't running for reelection in 2014 ;)

One thing to keep in mind. The Senators that voted yes, on denying US participation on the UN Small Arms Treaty, are definitely on our side. Some of the Senators that voted no, are not necessiarily against us. They may have merely been in favor of an international arms trafficing agreement, without supporting any domestic firearm stipulations, affecting our 2nd amendment rights.

I'm from Missouri. When I read what the vote was for I knew how my Senators voted without looking. The nay came from a party hack who votes how she's told.

If that last sentence is too political just strike it out.
