Had this happen on my Kahr PM9 - used it as an excuse to install XS Big Dots - couldn't be happier.
Call S&W get a new site install it and put it in classified adds here and then order a glockIf you want to pay what I have into it you can have it... It's obvious they have a issue with the white dots and it does bother me.. I paid for a new shield, in new condition without obvious flaws or issues and that's not what I got... FIX THE FACTORY ISSUE S&W!! They have a problem, just fix it, is that too much to ask from a company?? My families life could depend on it, I sure as hell hope they didn't "over-look" any other problems...
A big +1 on that. With the cost of firearms today, there is no reason to tolerate poor QC like that. Send it back... Send it back... Send it back... and get something extra in return for your troubles. The best fix? Simple. Send it back for warranty work. White dot fell off my M&P9c several weeks after i bought it. ropped it off at FedEx (free shipping) on a particular day, and I think I got it back with a new front sight (and they threw in another mag with pinky extension for the heck of it), in 7 days.
Great customer support. Use it.

I was on the range last weekend and I found thousands of these missing white dots on the ground!!!
What a find as these are getting to be very rare and hard to find. not easy to pick up either....
I will be putting an ad in the classified section real soon. One of these dots MIGHT be yours....if you can identify it, I will simply give it back to you and you can send it back to S&W for them to re-install..

PS. Whatever happened to being self-sufficient especially on tiny minor problems that take almost 30 second to rectify yourself and not be without your sidearm?
Yes, I am being sarcastic here.....
Send it back... Send it back... Send it back... and get something extra in return for your troubles.
On the Nitesiters I heard some other talk of them on the neg side. So... I got Glonation paint. I like it & it works for me. Here's a link & a pic of my Shield.
Glow in the Dark Paint. Super Bright, Super Long Glow. Glows for hours instead of minutes.
It is really sad there are so many people who think they are skilled enough to own and shoot firearms but do not have the skill to place a drop of model paint in a front site. They will spend $500.00 on a great pistol and cry because they have to spend a dollar on paint.
Not everyone should own firearms.
Aha... But does S&W actually make their own sights, or do they use a Vendor? This is something I've asked in multiple Sight Dot threads and have yet to see an answer. It is more an issue that after paying the $$$ for a great pistol something as simple as a dot of paint can't be properly applied by S&W. I mean how hard is it? This isn't happening with one or two batches, but it seems like the norm with M&P sights.
