Is anyone seeing the S&W M&P 9 or 40 compact at there LGS? I have not been able to find one for months. What gives?

gun companies manufacture in runs. Those are likely just not coming out of the factory lately.

No...not around here. Nor the 45c either. One LGS I frequent has a few FS models in each caliber, but no compacts. I guess people are buying them all for carry!

This same LGS does have some Shields, but not in 9mm.

Bass Pro has both 9c and 40c sitting in the case here. Also have the XDS 9mm sitting in the case.

No shields in the building.

Just about every GS,range and sporting goods stores around me have multiple M&P pistols. Shields, FS 9,40, and the academy near me finally started getting the S&W 1911's in stock.

I got my M&P Shield 9mm from just a small local store. All the larger chair stores were sold out.

There's plenty at the LGS a mile from here. They had an S&W demo event at the range a few months ago, and they LOADED up on the whole M&P line. That's where I first shot the Shield. They gave you the ammo and let you take 5 shots with a 9mm Shield, 5 with 9mm FS, 5 w M&P-22, and 5 w M&P 22-15. They still have a bunch. They had the compacts at $499 for the event, now at regular price of $529.

The S&W I can't find is a model 60 J frame in 357 with the 3" barrel and adjustable sights.

Ouch just a bit of markup on those. Thanks I think I'll wait. :-)

Those are MSRP numbers you're seeing. When you go to get an instant quote using your zip code you'll get a real price. My LGS has them for $479

$500 Do you think they will be available for less than that?

Yes I agree it cost about $65 to make the gun, there is a good mark up on them, are polymer guns worth that much ,not likely, but they are trouble free and last for ever. Less than $500?
