I understand i am of a different generation than a lot of the members here...and I also understand not everyone here has the opportunity for the level of education that I completed, but, we live in the age of the computer.
The era I was raised in, there was a lot of emphasis put on using the English language and CORRECT SPELLING. Now every computer I know of currently offers spell-check. Most all public access forums OFFER spell check in their "post new thread box" automatically...that's AUTOMATICALLY...the computer finds words that are misspelled as you TYPE them, it highlites the word, and even, in a lot of cases offers CORRECT spelling.
I humbly suggest that when you prepare a comment, you pay attention to this electronic marvel.
When I read comments here, and on other forums that I visit, my eyes slam shut at words, many common words, that are not spelled correctly.
Not to mention the run on paragraphs, mashed language used, and so on. As I write this, I can think of a number of active participants throughout this forum whose comments I will not read because it is an assault on my brain to try and figure out what said contributor is saying.
Maybe it's just me, perhaps I woke up today with a bug in my backside, but C'mon guys...I know from reading that most of you are well educated, familiar with the language in some real sense, somewhat computer savvy, but your writing would make one believe you did not make it past the fourth grade.

What you think is bad spelling is actually an elaborate code that has been devised here. Apparently it works since you've mistaken it for poor grammar. You would be amazed at what's really being said in some of these posts.

Yeah, you missed a couple of caps in your message about poor grammar. Oops.

Computer (and smart phone) use promotes bad writing habits. I have a problem with fat fingers on the keyboard making typos. But you can't worry too much about it.

whats mor importent. the meaning or the grammr?

"But come on guys.."
Did you forget the spell check?

Nope did it on purpose...glad you picked it up...I tried to leave in the hilites for a misspelled word, but it wouldn't do that, so I went a little less subtle...

Catach22, nope, and nope...but I'm not crazy...my mother had me checked

Doug627...not grading, just observing and finally commenting...

bamabiker...HUH????

Jessie...thanks, I was not made aware of that but it appears to be a great possible explanation...

see, this is fun...for me

You have a valid point. I am just curious, is there a chance your a retired English teacher. Or have you ever been diagnosed with O.C.D

Did you do that on purpose?

We all make typos, and we all are capable of incorrect spelling, even with spell-check.

My pet peeves are incorrect usage of there, their, and they're; to, too, and two; and your and you're.

Have you heard the saying, "The most ironic statement ever seen on the internet: 'your an idiot.' ?"

Appears to be sentence fragment ...

It seems like someone of a different (presumably older) generation would remember being taught that crops are raised and children are reared. Furthermore, your superfluous use of ellipses is distracting. What words, thoughts, or ideas, pray tell, are you leaving out? (And don't try the "I did that on purpose" line again, either. :))

I find poor grammar and punctuation minorly annoying in general, but I don't call folks out on it unless they are fellow grammar geeks (in private) or the meaning is unclear. I did point out the other day that someone misspelled "shemagh" because I couldn't figure out what a "shemag" was for a solid 2-3 minutes. (A female P-mag?)
