Thats it for sure. Typically these guys are whacked out weaklings looking for their 15 minutes of fame. They chose their victims from those they know can't defend themselves.

Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing in common 'psychiatric drugs'....
Just take a look at the list below....
• Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

• Luke Woodham, age 16 (Prozac) killed his mother and then killed two students, wounding six others.
• A boy in Pocatello, ID (Zoloft) in 1998 had a Zoloft-induced seizure that caused an armed stand off at his school.

• Matthew Miller was 13 when he saw a psychiatrist because he was having difficulty at school. The psychiatrist gave him samples of Zoloft. Seven days later his mother found him dead, hanging by a belt from a laundry hook in his closet.
• Kurt Danysh, age 18, and on Prozac, killed his father with a shotgun. He is now behind prison bars, and writes letters, trying to warn the world that SSRI drugs can kill.

Those focusing on further firearms bans or magazine restrictions are clearly focusing on the wrong issue and asking the wrong questions, either as a deliberate attempt to hide these links, or out of complete and utter ignorance.
Don't let them! Force our elected "representatives" and the media to cast a harsh spotlight on this issue. Don't stop hounding them until they do.

Here is a brief summation of Mr. Bat-guano crazy's life, from a person who read his biography. Seems young Mr. crazy kept a pretty good diary of his life, and laid it all out for everyone.....

He begins planning his "Day of Retribution" to murder people who have a happier life than he does, but are undeserving of it. After putting it off a few times, he decides to do it this weekend because it's his last opportunity before the end of the UCSB and local community college school year. And we all know what happened after that.
In short, this is one of the most pathetic, sick, and twisted *******s you can imagine. It's just a shame that he didn't end his wretched life in solitude. I have absolutely no sympathy for him because he constantly rebuffed his family's efforts to get him on track, choosing instead to mope around like a loser and play World of Warcraft all day.
A few other things of note:
1. While he complains that girls "won't give him a chance" and pay no attention to him, there's pretty much no mention in all 140 pages of him actually trying to talk to a girl. If he was was actually trying to meet women and getting rejected, you had better believe that would have been included in his story. It appears the woman-hating complex developed because women weren't approaching him and throwing themselves at him. In other words, he killed 6 people because lack of female attention was the bane of his existence, yet he never sought female attention to begin with.
2. The guy wanted to be rich so he could attract women, but refused to work at any job because he considered it beneath him. His dream was to become a millionaire overnight, so he spent thousands of dollars playing the lottery. He believed he would win it because it was his destiny to be rich and powerful--he just didn't want to work for it.
3. One of his plans for the "Day of Retribution" included traveling from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles to kill his six-year-old brother so he wouldn't "surpass" him as a man and have sex. If that's not evil, I don't know what is.
4. When I first read this story I thought he was a UCSB student. He wasn't. He had been attending a community college adjacent to UCSB, but dropped out of all his classes a couple years ago. He had been lying to his parents that he was still going to school so they would continue to support him financially.
5. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but it seems like if his parents had come down harder on him and not gone along with his bull**** for so long, this never would have happened. He describes numerous instances of his parents trying to get him help and change his life, but each time he manipulated them into going along with his plans rather than theirs.

Actually Vigil, the numbers of shootings and related deaths has gone down over the years in a 'per capita' sense. What we have nowadays is much more rapid news reporting and access to information. 30 years ago, no one in 49 states would have ever known that a police officer shot a man in my driveway who pointed a fake gun at him. But with modern technology, an astute police shooting statistic follower would be easily able to figure this one out, and has heard about it, regardless of where he lives.
Crazy. Crazy has ALWAYS taken on many forms, but we now get to see more of them thrust before us, because of modern information. So we see many new sides of the nuttier than a fruitcake crowd.....

I see where you're going with this.
We should do away with psychiatric drugs, since they are "involved" in all these mass shootings, and that if the perps -- who already had mental health issues, which was why they were taking the meds in the first place -- had not been taking them, none of these shootings would have happened.
That's pretty curious logic, but I guess there's a way of thinking to fit any agenda.

I know what you meant, but there really is no 'up' side here.
It's just bad all around. People who had sons and daughters when they got up Friday morning have had their souls ripped out. Hope they don't accidentally come in here.

I never said get rid of them. However better management should be looked at. It's not just my opinion. 22 international drug regulatory agency warnings cite side effects including mania, violence, psychosis and even homicidal ideation as a result of psychiatric drugs.
These drugs alter the way a persons brain works. They have a profound effect on the way people act and think. They effect people in many different ways.
This country has a problem with over prescribing medication to people who probable don't need it.

OK, I'm going to say it. The deputies had no probably cause because the parents live in a nice house and have money.
That may sound rather simplistic, so let me expand. If the parents told deputies "we don't allow guns in the home" as they are so against guns, are the LEOs going to press the point in an upscale neighbourhood? Probably not in California. In any case, under the law the guy was a consenting adult. If he bought guns and hid the fact from his parents it was hardly their fault.

I might have felt sorry for the parents until they started blaming everybody and everything else for what happened. Maybe if they had demanded some effort from this kid instead of indulging him and spoiling him and filling him with this sense of self-importance.

Incidents like this are a vivid reminder that most of our society has relegated its protection to others, primarily the police, and that calling 911 has become the default response for acts of violence. People with mental health (psychological) problems have always been a part of society, in every country, and will occasionally act out in a violent way. In reading his manifesto, he leaves little to the imagination as to just how deeply disturbed he was. His videos only personalize it all too well. As others have said, there is really nothing new here. Madness has always existed, and desperate people do desperate things. There is no protection against madness, only swift and sure response.

People with manifestos generally have them because nobody wanted to hear what they had to say in the first place because it was bat-**** nuts.
Have you ever MET somebody with a manifesto? If so, would you leave them alone with a loaded gun... or your children?
