"They" say that beauty (in terms of art) is in the eye of the beholder. I don't buy it. When I look at something that some one wants to pass off as art I look at it and if I have to ask myself "what is it?" then I dismiss it as being art. This holds true for any of the many mediums in the art world.

A bunch of odd shaped pieces of metal welded together is not art. A semblance of a human form with 3 breasts and one eye in the middle of her head is not art. A bunch of splotches of various colors in a random pattern is not art. Just because something is perceived as art by a deranged/impaired mind does not MAKE it art.

Art can be disturbing. Or restful. Or thought provoking. Colorful or drab. But it must be a result of someones talent that required study or training or natural ability that was developed over time.

Yes I like art. I don't like pretenders.
