There were more recent pagan celebrations of May Day. Hordes of mechanized equipment and marchers drove down a wide road in formation while a bunch of old men in funky clothes and big hats on high platforms stared at them with stern faces.
Some of our members might remember being on the opposite side of fences from these celebrations?
Think these sort of faded away, and were replaced by all kinds of hordes!

We went out to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our tradition is that the person whose birthday it is picks the place we eat. She had said that it was between two Mexican food places, so I was primed for that. Then she started talking Italian, some place I'd never been before, so I wasn't feeling it. I love Italian food, but I was primed for TexMex. She finally chose Mexican, & we headed out & had a great meal. This particular place has a plate that consists of two enchiladas, one tamale, a taco, a guacamole salad, some rice, all in VERY generous servings. We went through two baskets of chips & salsa also. Consequently, I was feeling very tick like at the end. I tell myself every time we go there that I'm going to order lighter, but I never do. I don't know if I'll ever learn...
Got home in time for the Spurs/Thunder tip off, & the Spurs were en fuego the whole game. I sure hope it's a sign of things to come! Anyway, I need to slide out of here like an anaconda, & digest this mass consumption. I don't feel like I'll need to eat for a few days...

Mexican food!!!
My favorite and the way I judge Mexican food is Chille rellenos, then tamales.
Best I ever had was in Artesia, N.M., many years ago. Last year in the Black Hills a new Mexican place, Rosa's, was found in Hills, S.D. Almost a hole in the wall type place, but a bigger. 2nd place, but almost first on the chille rellenos., and the tamales were first rate! She only makes so many, so if they were sold out, you went without!
Son came back from fishing Deerfield Lake with limit of trout, and brought back to camp, a dozen tamales from Rosa's. What a dinner! Maybe the location helps?
It was memorable, family, food, in the Hills 
,and some wine and beer!

Not talking about a technical type talk, presentation, or speech, but just your average exchange of information.
Is it because the human mind prefers to deal with commonalities of a subject, or the delivery in a common way is preferred?

Conked out before I knew it last night,must have been tired! Seems I missed the pagan celebrations! I have known some pagans and heathens,some scared me and some were exploring,looking for the meaning of life etc. some of the just wanted to get high. Drift on,don't worry,be happy.

Hope it's decent for when the Mrs. and I leave on vacation! We haven't had a real vacation in two years? 
We're not taking the Motorhome, we're going to motel/ hotel it!
Now after seeing the bacon and eggs,,,time to go for breakfast!

Strange avian activity observed on my walk this morning. It could be the beginning of the hordes.

Notice the pink color, fresh out of the egg ! 
The adults are probably hovering in the background, waiting for some unsuspecting creature to get in the middle looking for easy pickings.
