Good evening drifters. It's 77 degrees in the desert this evening down from 103. Next week we are supposed to get to 111 or maybe a little more, yes, summer is coming.

I heard on the news that there was a shooting in Houston at an auto detailing place, hope this wasn't around Vonn's place. Anybody else know anything about this?

A few days ago in Phoenix a young woman disappeared and today her body was found out here in Tonopah just a couple of miles, or less from my place. I'm not sure exactly where but the news said off 411th ave and 411th is only two miles long and that's where I live. The suspect is in jail but more people may be involved. There just doesn't seem to be any place you can go to get away from all the mess going on in the world today.

Thank you, all you veterans, and all those currently serving in
the military. God bless.

Isis, are you still in touch with Parsly? I know you haven't mentioned him in a while...recently, this picture emerged. He doesn't have his shiny suit on,
& you can see what kind of wages he's working for. Should we be concerned?
Pars' is doin fine. Thank you so much for asking.
Ya know, a Goddess can do only so much in giving guidance to her offspring.
He tried the Ren Faire circuit for a bit. Found it was tough, being overshadowed (literally) by all those Round Table dudes.
I told him, if he wanted to charm the turkey leg knawing masses, he had to go the super cute route,
and shelve the tin suit for a bit.
Just until his stores were built up for the Winter, of course.
Amazingly, he listened.

I had said CT needs rain. We got it last night. Must be an inch plus in the garden cart.
I still have transplants to plant. S'pose I'll just get wet.
Breakfast first.
With BACON!
See y'all later.

Anyone wondering who Tim is talking about, waaaaay back in Drift history, see page 212.

Good Morning Y'all (I am from Tennessee, we are programmed from birth to say y'all!)

I hope everyone slept well!

Snarles Barkley (AKA Theo) our Miniture German Snahauser, who also doubles as an alarm clock, just woke me up, chirpping. He thinks grandson should be up and getting ready for school. It'll take Theo (Theo-saris) a few weeks to figure out, it's summer break for his best friend. And by then, it will be time for school to start and the cycle starts all over.

Smartest dang dog I've ever seen! Tell him to bring Daddy (that's what he calls me) a ball, he'll go get a ball, tell him to bring mommy (that's what he calls wifey) a stuffy (stuffed animal) he'll bring it, tell him to bring you a squeaky, he'll bring you a squeaky stuffed animal. He loves playing songs using his squeaky's. And him and grandson love to wrestle, not really wrestle, but grandson lays in Theo's floor (he owns the floor) and it's on! That's when Theo's wrestling character "Snarles Barkley" comes out. The Tussle Is On! It's really cute! It wears me out just to watch em!

So now our German alarm clock has spoken, time to have some Orange Juice and get my day started! Might cook some breakfasts? Country ham, biscuits and scramble some eggs. And cook, Lord Theodore of Southwood (his full name) 2 pieces of bacon! Can't forget Theo! Of course, he wouldn't let me.

I Hope everyone has a great day! Stay safe and if you're traveling today, Please drive in defence mode.

Yes in deed the German schnauzer is one SMART dog! Our little guy. ( Wolfgang) passed away just under a year ago. He was with us for 15 yrs. And never ceased to amaze us with his intelligence. The misses is ready to get another one now, so the hunt is on!

Darn furrin suds using the name of my country!
Geoff
Who figures it should be called "European" instead of American.

America for me, here in Houston is brewed locally at an AB Inbev plant (brewery) just off of I-10, right close to the Houston Ship Channel. There's nothing quite like the waters of the Houston Ship Channel for brewing beer. The waste water, dioxin, lead, and mercury levels are replicated nowhere else.

Morning Breakfast:

I was shocked! Wifey jumped in and helped! It sped up the process and we even bumped into each other, a few times (which I liked!) and she was even pleasant and in a good mood? Wink Wink! A enjoyable Breakfast!

Wifey has never been a cook. Sure she'll warm up a can of soup, or make sandwiches. But that's about the extent of her culinary skills. Not her fault though, she was raised by her single Dad. TV dinners and frozen pizzas were his specialty and KFC was a big treat for them.

My Mother was a stay at home Mom (like most Mothers in the 1950-1960's) until the early 70's when Dad bought a Drive In Market and she ran it till the mid 1990's. When he passed away and the property become way more valuable than a small local market. And right when they started putting Stop-N-Go's (now Mapco's) on every corner.

But I learned to cook from helping her when I was young. She was a NOT a fancy cook. But a Great Country cook. She learned the same way from helping her mother. Mom made some fried catfish and of course fried chicken and some of the best Chess Pies on the planet and her freshly graded coconut cakes were the best and her homemade blackberry cobbler was to kill for. So I guess I inherited it? And I still LOVE to cook! And took what I learned from her and took it a few steps more. I make killer Cashew Chicken with water chestnuts and everyone Loves my stuffed Bell Peppers. And it made me proud, about a year or two before Momma passed away, I had a Cook Out and my Daughter brought her over and she said my hamburgers were the best she'd ever had. It was because of the seasonings I mix in my burgers and my homemade sauce I mopped on em that kept em juicy. And even now I miss her fried okra and fried green tomatoes!

So a Very Good Breakfast and Even Better Memories! And brushing up against Wifey, wasn't too bad either!! Too bad grandson kept coming through the kitchen, I swear the boy has a Wifey Alarm! Every time I touch her, his alarm goes off???

It's a sad day at the raljr1 house today. Many of you Drifters know that our son is a SSGT in the US Army. He was home over the weekend and we won't see him for at least a year as his Uncle Sam has plans for him.

When he was two years old, I was paneling our game room and he was playing outside the garage. He was using a stick that fell from the tree as a sword. I told him that he needed a better weapon than that to battle monsters, and I fashioned him a sword out of a piece of 1x2 furring strip. I figured that I'd toss it in the wood pile when he was done playing with it at the end of the day. Well, he slayed many a monster with his "magic sword" over the years, and numerous chunks of that sword were lost on dragon hides.

Upon leaving here today, he left behind a couple of tote bins for safe keeping. These are things he didn't want to entrust to the storage company. I opened one of the totes to decide where best to store them, and this is what I found. 30 some years later, with chunks missing and faint traces of monster blood.....raljr1 is typing thru tears today....thanks for listening.
