Still my thoughts and condolences go out to all those involved!

There's NO way the dog ate that!

He just farted and it smelled like a two week old dead turtle, that has been laying on the side of a HOT road!

Gross! Where's the Air Freshner??

One of my aunts had a dachshund that could clear an open-air 60,000-seat stadium. And then he would smile.

My little dog Moose can just about etch glass, but he's an amateur by comparison.:eek::D

For the first time in a long time I slept through the night without having to get up and go to the bathroom.

Does this qualify as a nocturnal omission?

Sorry...

Totally jealous over here...still, maybe this is how you feel...

After the midafternoon break yesterday, our appetite for vittles revived, went right below the room where a campground grill that had seen better days awaited. Can't go wrong with the simple stuff although I can't recommend white corn for grilling, just not enough sugars for caramelizing. A small thunderstorm to the northwest provided some relief from the sun and enough of a breeze to keep the beer from getting too warm by the second gulp.

Daybreak found us sipping coffee on the deck, then a stroll on the beach was required, Mrs. N's knee cooperated we made the half mile round trip to the pier. As grand as nature is I take pleasure in the little treasures. Looking for small intact shells I kept finding them occupied. I fling them back out into the surf to give them a short respite from the birds seeking a snack.

We are both looking forward to leaving our prints somewhere soon on another beach.

A long day, My Lady Wife made 2 glass items at the Corning Glass Museum. I am much too clumsy for anything more complicated than VERY simple gunsmithing. Walked around the buildings in the wake of PoGoGo. Many centuries of glass, all interesting.

Who is PO'd by certain politicians and shysters on the 1830 News locally. I wanna watch Vanna and relax my aching feet. Amazing, the knees don't bother me much, things are improving.

Good Evening Folks.

Fixing to fry some Black Angus Burgers. Served With fresh mator slices on the side. And some hamburger Dill Slices. I'm NOT a onion eater.

It thundering all around us. But no showers yet? Just few light sprinkles.

So Please have a Good Evening. And if you don't, don't blame me! But I guess you could? Wifey blames me for everything anyway. I'm used to it!

The events of this past weekend and the talking heads
making hay from it, disgust me.
I also cannot voice my contempt for the blindness that
seems to envelope some people.
Suffice it to say i have not been watching the news lately.
Same old same old.
The Dan Rather, Katie Couric, school of journalism is just
not for me.
Prayers for all affected and my sincere Hope that all of these
low life slugs get hunted down and eliminated.

Chuck

I've been late all day and really did not have anything scheduled. When I got back from my morning walk I started reading ahead in Homer's Diary of his time on the USS Yolo. There are some good entries coming. I'll keep doing the this date postings until they head to Leyte. After that I'll post a few select entries at the war's end as one or two posts not coinciding with this date in 2016.

Now back to Homer Bast C.O. USS Yolo, off the invasion beaches of Okinawa.

June 13, 1945

No alerts this day or night. Possibly the B-29 raids against Kyushu have brought about this lull. TF 38 continues its daily raids. The boys want to build a projection booth so that break-outs will not interfere with their movies. A booth would help the sound as well. It is all right with me. Sitting on the bridge waiting for GQ, I see the flashes, the smoke and flame from the land bombardment. While no raids were identified, ground fighting goes on. Rumors persist, so the signalmen tell me, that the fighter pilots say the war will be over in August.

vonn, here you go, the contractors left around 6pm. They have all the planking ripped off the pool deck. The main 6x6 post that's rotted out at the base has been excavated and the main deck has been supported as this was done. They will put the new post splice in tomorrow and set and pour it! The piece he's using to mend it with is from an original post left over from 20 + years ago ;)
They will return in the morning but progress has been made! :D
