Steel target was downrange(over 25yds.)He looked at the target pulled ,shot & BING target sounded hit.He reholstered & they went NUTS,lucky shot, bet you couldn't do THAT again! And that's the truth!

Actually, no it is not.

Much depends on the individuals involved. And knife vs knife defense scenarios are astronomically rare and generally an act of dueling. A knife is extremely dangerous, but it is in no way impossible to disarm or defend against a knife without getting cut or stabbed. That is a frequently perpetuated fallacy.

You need to frequent a lower class of bar. Although it is true that knife vs. cue ball fights are more common . . .

PS: This took about a minute on Google, and I sorted through about ten other knife fight stories in 2016 before picking this one at random. In all of the stories, everybody brought a knife, and both parties got cut . . . .

Like I said, I consider those duels. And even in blade vs blade, it's possible to not get cut. It all depends on the individuals.

By dueling, I simply mean the participants are mutual combatants that entered into the fight willingly. Just like most many streetfights, bar brawls and challenge matches would not be considered self-defense. Knife vs knife defense scenarios do happen on occasion, they are just extremely rare since most serious knife attacks are essentially ambush style assassination attempts. Someone brandishing a knife and waving it around is generally trying to threaten, intimidate or is looking for a duel.

How did we get from carrying snub nosed revolvers to knife fights?
Rule #1 If you know there will be a gun fight just don't show up.
There is no better tactic.
Rule #2 Don't bring a knife to a gun fight. If I know your coming, you
will lose. Of course if I don't know, I've got a problem.
Rule #3 Don't get into a knife fight if you are on Cumadin. That was
a huge disappointment when the Doctor told me not to
participate in knife fights. It doesn't take much of a slice
to bleed profusely.
Rule #4 Just let the younger guys, who need the experience, disarm
the knife wielding drunks. I can't do that any more.
Rule #5 Stay away from those places where you know there will
be trouble. If you look for trouble it is very easy to find.

Who's afraid of a "little" knife fight?

I guess that is why I carry my 642,... just in case that "little" knife fight gets out of hand... ;)

And yes, this switchblade works and the blade is sharp.
