that's interesting. that means the terrorist had to practice someplace....

well, yeah.
i guess i forgot i shoot in the back yard.
i suppose other people could too.

Now that .gov is out to ban 'em, they're selling like crazy. Local shops are sold out and there's an ad on the local Armslist for two @ $650 each.
This is just nuts.

Bump fire can be accomplished easily without a special stock. A bump fire board can be made with a short plank from the lumber store. It will work the same as the stock, and will also work with handguns.

That said restricting, or banning the stocks would be a huge failure for the 2A. It would be tucking our tails between our legs.

I heard on the news today that the IRA could be in favor of restricting bump fire sales. Whether that is true or not I don't know.

It's true, I will see if I can find a link to their statement. The NRA has always done this, it is all about the money. They supported the NFA, GCA, GFSZA, as well as other gun control.

Get it banned, or regulated, then fight it later with your money. It is called a ponzi scheme.

I'm not sure it even qualifies as a cave-in. A cave-in is usually after some type of initial resistance. I saw none here with the NRA reaching for the Federal regulation button only moments behind Schumer, Pelosi and Feinstein.

Uh... my Wilson Combat and Timney triggers enhance the shooter's ability to manipulate the trigger at a faster rate than a standard GI trigger on an AR15. So does every lighter and shorter reset aftermarket trigger. Hmmm...

Watch out boys... The distinction between machine gun and semi-automatic for purposes of regulation could get real fuzzy.

Feinstein's bill - ‘‘Automatic Gunfire Prevention Act’’.

“It shall be unlawful for any person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a trigger crank, a bump-fire device or any part, combination of parts, component, device, attachment or accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun,”

With this horrific shooting in LV, one madman has caused
the world to demonize a piece of plastic equipment.

We all know it's not what's in a man's hands...but what's in his heart that counts.

Evil respects no law....Not man's laws nor God's laws.

Legal or illegal - just political posturing! If a homicidal maniac wants to do what happened in Vegas, No law, NO rules or restrictions are going to stop him. How to you scare or threaten a man who is intent on killing himself after the deed anyway? YOU CAN'T and he certainly doesn't give a hoot about breaking gun laws!

IMHO the left Anti's are smarter than us gun owners. They constantly chip away at our rights one by one...... death by 1,000 cuts so to speak. This is just another restriction and ban - no more no less.

If the supposed guys on our side were as smart as they are they should make a deal. Something like OK, we get rid of Bump Fire Stocks but now all States will honor each others permits, or make it illegal to ban certain mag's, or eliminate all .22 lR from bans, - or something like that. Instead of getting something in return, the Anti's just use a tragedy to their advantage. They are smarter than we are - they will even admit "the end justify's the means". We just don't get it!!!!

Thank you NRA........for nothing.

Can I get my Life/Endowment money back?

GOA and SAF will get future contributions.

Flame away.

Not going to flame ya nor the NRA.... just yet. :D

My unofficial count is that NRA leadership has stated 427,003 times that more gun regulation is not the answer. Over the years they have caved-in and compromised on things. I get that. It's not a perfect world. But this last statement by the NRA rings a completely different tone-- NRA advocacy for more federal gun regulation. In other words, more gun regulation is the answer! That's a tough pill to swallow when the 2A rights group you contribute hard earned monies comes right out of the gate calling for more gun regulations.

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semiautomatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,” NRA leaders Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox said in a statement.

Last year when my BIL told me about these stocks I told him that it was only a matter of time before fool got hurt and they would ban them. I hate being right and so wrong at the same time.

You can slap all of the laws and restrictions on such things and it ain't gonna stop someone from doing evil.

Some guy like the Vegas shooter that has deep pockets won't blink twice. The less wealthy, they'll just change their methods.

Terrorist prove it all to frequently. You can't legislate what's in some ones head.

I guess we're going to see bump fire stocks banned, maybe. Notice it always a AR-15? The battle to ban more stuff will begin soon. These cowards continue to hurt innocent people. Now I'm worried about copy cats.

I never knew about a bump fire stock. I know you can bump fire without the stock. I'm not in favor of wasting ammo. I'm not fond of large capacity magazines too another waste of ammo. I'm a hunter and paper target guy.
Years ago I was shooting 4 to 5 times a week. The rest of the time I was reloading. It was fun target shooting.

I'd heard about bump stocks..... but thought they were pretty stupid idea... and would serve little if any practical purpose..... as I have little need to lay down unaimed suppressive fire.

But the "________" figured out the one situation where "they" crowd and fence in 22,000 people into a couple of acres and a shooter can get into a position to look down on them....... like the proverbial "fish in a barrel".

News reporting is he had 12 in the room (along with stacks of 60 and100 round magazines) and I've heard (once or twice now) that "several" of the guns were jammed...assume that was due to bump stock failure.

They say he has a pilot licence and a plane......... I'm thankful he didn't just load up on fuel .... take off from the airport behind the hotel and .... and roll the plane into the concert...we'd be looking at 500 dead and thousands more with burns..................

This is all nuts...... I'm beginning to miss; not only Reagan...... but the late 60s as well.........................
