Someone in Honey Grove Texas had 4 cross wolves and was told to get rid of them. They dumped them in my area and are running in a pack and killing peoples pets. Someone got a photo out of their back window. I learned about this just now. This is a wooded area and they are on the loose. They look like a sled dog to me but they are calling them wolf hounds and wolf dogs. What would be the correct name?

"Made to kill other animals."

Well, all dogs are made to kill other animals; they ain't herbivores.

Wolf dogs aren't for everybody, sometimes they're docile and sometimes they aren't.

Thank God they weren't pit bulls (stirrs the pot...)

In my neighborhood? "Dead Doggie."

I worked a case where two wolf/dog hybrids killed and partially ate a 6 year old boy. He had played with them earlier in the day, but when he ran past them at dusk they pulled him down, and I’ll spare you the rest. Some wolf instinct was triggered, according to one of the experts I contacted.

Somebody should just shoot those things now.

Targets...and the idiot that turned them loose should be charged for creating a dangerous situation and have to pay for all they kill. When they pack up and start killing they usually don't stop...... except permanently. BTW...most critters like these are hard to live trap especially after the first is caught

Owner has been located and owned up but I don't know the - who- what- when- where -and why - at the moment. I understand one is no longer with us.

AAUUGHHH!! Don't get me started on irresponsible pet owners!!

We had a family move into our little town from the city a couple of years ago. They had a couple of good-sized dogs (a Labrador and a Goldendoodle) which they allowed to run loose. After all, it's the country. Right? Lots of open space. Let's all sing a chorus of "Born Free" while we're at it.

Anyway, the two dogs started chasing and killing livestock. Finally, one rancher got a call from one of his neighbors saying that the dogs had wiped out their flock of chickens and were last seen trying to get into the rancher's chicken run. This was just after they had been seen chasing another rancher's cows.

The old boy went outside, saw a bunch of feathers scattered all over and a couple of dead chickens. The dogs were still going after the rest of the chickens and were pretty defiant, not wanting to give up their fun. The rancher calmly reached inside his pickup, pulled out his rifle and shot both of the dogs.

Of course, the couple who owned the dogs were extremely upset. I mean, what's a couple of smelly calves and a bunch of chickens compared to two beautiful, registered canines?

Utah law states than any dog that is found killing or even harassing domestic livestock can be killed...and it doesn't even have to be the owner of the livestock who does the killing either.

Anyway, the couple got a quick education. Of course, they now consider the local agricultural people a bunch of mouth-breathing hicks, but that's beside the point.

Bottom line, some people shouldn't be allowed to own dogs...or any pet for that matter.

Okay, okay...enough said. I'll go back to my corner.

Those animals in that photo don't look a bit like wolf hybrids (the correct name) to me.

I've been around quite a few hybrids. Frankly, I've never seen a wolf hybrid whose tail curled up like that. If those animals have any wolf in them, it's minimal.

Breeding them was popular around Boulder for years. The few I came across (leashed) had the coldest eyes. Those four have a lot of malamute in them.

It isn't that wolf hybrids' eyes are "cold". We're human, and we're accustomed to seeing (mostly) a dog's soft brown eyes. The hybrids have wolf eyes, that's all. That's how they should look. We get the impression of "cold eyes" because when we come in contact with them, they don't usually approach us with that doggy-grin-waggy-tail thing. Unlike a lot of dogs, the hybrids will stare directly at our face as they approach, usually with their head slightly lowered.

I'm against breeding wolf hybrids. 98% of the people who buy them see this cute fluffy sled dog looking puppy with huge paws who will grow into a really big "dog" with a lot of usually destructive habits. These poor hybrids usually end up abandoned, killed, or sent to sanctuaries that are privately funded. Or sometimes they'll simply live out their lives inside an 8' x 12' dog "run". It's a truly miserable existence for them.

The people who buy them want this super cool dangerous looking animal to parade before all their equally ignorant friends...and they have no idea what they've bought into. The word "clueless" is really applicable to those people.

I don't feel sorry for the people who've probably wasted a lot of their money. I feel sorry for the wolf hybrids.

Why is the woman in the photograph below smiling?

Because she's an idiot, that's why. She doesn't know any better.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've said that. I'd settle for two-bits for every time I've seen it in real life.

No, don't go back into your corner. Someone needs to say that every day; someone needs to speak realistically and with conviction about irresponsible (and uncaring) animal owners.

If I seen a pack like that running around I’d have to protect the neighborhood.

I hunt coyotes a lot the biggest one I’ve shot so far almost 42lbs
A pack of them that size wouldn’t be good. I’d be worried of the kids that play in there yards. Below is that big male I’m taking about.
