APARRANTLY THE DEATH RATE IS DOUBLE WHAT THEY PREDICTED IN THE US!

I listen to the medical field rather than politicians angling for re-election...

Fauci says we must remain in lockdown until there are no new cases of CV-19. That there will be no country left by then isn't a medical consideration.

Listening to the medical field is a mistake, too.

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation has had to radically cut their projected deaths in the U.S. Twice. Very wrong. In fact, much of the actions being taken were based on IHME projections.

When they were found to be wrong, the governments did not back off on the restrictions of the citizens.

BTW, there is no medical field to listen to. My doctors and my dentist are closed. Hospitals are empty. The U.S. response to CV-19 has been a Third World response.

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation is estimating 72,000 with a bunch of caveats. The President raised his estimate to 80-90K from 65K. Neither number is good.

"The U.S. response to CV-19 has been a Third World response."

Hmm I wonder who is responsible for that? Asking for a friend.

Bunch of people could get their left ear disinfected by shining an ultraviolet light in their right ear.

President scaled up the estimate he has used for the number of expected dead — projecting that the U.S. toll may be as high as 100,000, up from his prior prediction of 65,000.

Excellent hindsight there.

You can get back the economy, jobs, make up for lost education, Nobody can raise the dead. Some of you nay sayers should look at the history of pandemics. The second wave that comes after we drop restrictions is always far worse than the first. Progress is being made. A better treatment drug is now available, vaccine trails are underway. Impatience has killed way more people than caution ever has.

For those of you who think I am all set and the economic impact does not effect me. Between my wife and I we have lost at least $30,000 or more in income since this began. Plus, one excellent renter had to relocate and moved out. But, we are healthy and happy.

Renter is an interesting story. Young guy about 30. Rough neck in oil field, no real education, just a hard worker. Rigs shutting down, so out of a job. He doesn't cry in his beer. Nope, he hustles a job with a water well drilling company. Now wires in the pumps and sets up all the solar stuff for remote wells for cattle. Had to move 100 miles, but is making more money than before. Hard work and hustle. During this time, an uneducated kid went from unemployed to doing better in a couple weeks.

Restaurants, gyms, and movie theaters and a few others were allowed to open last Friday. I talked to several of my neighbors and asked if anyone was going to a restaurant or to see a movie this weekend and everyone said "no". Not really out of fear but just because it's not that big of a thrill and people are getting used to eating at home and watching movies at home and still enjoying life. Most gyms and many restaurants are still closed and I thinks it's because their employees don't want to come back to work for less money and are enjoying the $600/week stimulus money plus their unemployment check. My stepson is getting it and he's spending a bunch of dough souping up his car. Oh, sorry for the thread drift, I know this thread is mostly about insulting fellow forum members.

...about THEIR personal well being and that of their loved ones.

But seems patently obvious that some have ZERO regard or concern for the 30 MILLION Americans who are unemployed, the school children being denied access to proper public education, food lines, and food shortages. Plus incomes lost, business closures that will never reopen, suicides, and myriad other deleterious effects.

Wish those at risk took proper responsibility for their personal well being rather than make it the responsibility of everyone else.

Be safe...be well.

Have yet to hear any compassion for those people ^^^^^^

Small businesses squeezed out of government loans, survey reveals

I do feel compassion for the small business people who were screwed when big business grabbed up all the loans meant for small businesses.

Very poor controls by leadership there.

Amazon and online sales has done way more to harm small businesses and main street than the pandemic. Why were you not worried about that and posting about it for the last 5 years. Didn't suit your agenda at the time?

A day, week, month or 10 years the choice will be: Hide under the bed forever or get out and get busy. No "safe choice." Joe

Incorrect. They have already come up with a better treatment and it does not involve drinking bleach or being probes with an ultra violet light. Already testing a couple of vaccines. We are learning and knowledge is power.

First rules of rescue is secure the scene and don't make things worse. You would think a fireman would know that. I learned it when I went through fire training.

How about this latest news flash from the WH predicting that fatalities will raise again.

With states reopening the revised death toll projections from the White House now expected to reach 3,000 a day within a few weeks.
Without a massive national testing program so we can get healthy folks to work and keep those turned positive at home or if dire sick in the hospital, this will continue to be a clusterF@$k.

Wow, simply wow!

On March 16, 2020, in this esteemed Forum you noted you ‘walked away’ from a job that was going to pay you twenty thousand ($20000) dollars. Then you state herein you ‘lost at least $30,000 or more in income...’

You did not lose it...you gave it up!

Others affected did not quit their jobs...their jobs were taken away.
