Two of my friends and I went to State Line, an old mining town in south western Utah.
Being a holiday weekend and the elk bow hunt all the spots Bryan hoped were open were full of other campers.
Bryan is a professional deer, elk and bear hunting guide and checked to see if there was any chance one of his
friends was there hunting. Fortunately they were and they let us camp on their property. We really lucked out.
These two picture are not mine. They were taken a few years ago of the processing plant in State Line.
This is what we wanted to go see.
The town was basically deserted in 1939 but the processing plant was actually worked until the early 80's,
until the EPA shut it down for improper environmental procedures.
The plant was destroyed by fire that started July 13th near Panaca, Nevada. We knew this but wanted to see it anyway.
That's me standing on the platform in the previous picture.
Again not my picture but someone else's from a few years ago.
There are hundreds of feral horses out there destroying the vegetation.
The BLM is doing a horrible job thinning them out.
