time to up EDC?

Well then how do you explain all the crazy people in Euro countries too then?

We just don't hear about them on the news every day.

There are tons of them, and they kill people there too, with whatever tools their oppressive governments still allow them to have.

They have their problems, too.

But visit London or Berlin; you won't see the homeless camps and the people talking to parking meters the way you do in New York, Los Angeles, Houston.

You need to look a bit harder. I promise, they are there.

I have a theory on why he drove 30 miles north to the Boulder King Sooper's He had one close to his house and several along the way.

My theory is that this particular King Sooper's carries a large inventory of Kosher food and regularly advertises it. Who eats Kosher?

We won't hear that a Muslim targeted those who purchase Kosher foods. Doesn't work for the narrative.

If anyone else has a theory on why he drove 30 miles when there were plenty of closer choices lets here them.

Additionally I had some say the cop was a bad shot striking him in the thigh, no the shooter had on body armor on.

I subscribe to that same theory but of course the media won't explore that likelihood.

I used to toss an LCP in my pocket when making short trips to the store to pick up a few items, but I've come to realize that the bad guys don't care how near or far to your home your destination is.

These days, the "lightest" load out I carry is an M&P 9c in a DeSantis Nemesis tossed in my pocket, and a spare magazine on my belt.

So please explain your extensive, first-hand knowledge on the vast Kosher stockage of the Table Mesa King Soopers versus other grocery stores?

I am sure there could definitely be a religious motivator behind the attack, but people pulling supposed "facts" about the target store from thin air does not help the analysis.

Perhaps the terrorist was searching online for a grocery store that appears to feature Kosher products, simply used google; came upon these multiple hits, and targeted the store as a result.

king soopers kosher supermarket - Google Search

Multiple local news stories point to the Jewish community having been traumatized by the killings because they frequented that particular store.

So far as what are the actual thought processes of a mass murderer, who can really say, but his origin and Facebook page rants may provide a clue.

.....and now back to the actual topic of this thread.

Gangstas, terrorists and mass shooters don't arm themselves with j-frames -- why should you?

Because it's hard to conceal carry an AR-15. That's the weapon of choice for spree killers. Any handgun is outgunned by an AR.

I will add that bullets are like girlfriends, they can be expensive. At least these days.

No, you are both partially wrong. Bullets are like ex-wives. They are expensive AND they come with a lawyer attached.

Hard to believe that wasn't one person carrying there, especially in a state like Colorado. Looks like he picked the right store.

Yeah, that's how we all think, but Colorado is not the state it once was. In the last 12 years, it has swung completely Marxist. It is a "blue" state on just about every metric and so it surprises me not, that there were but poor sheeple in the store that day.

Yep. Colorado is barely different than California these days. Sad but true. Boulder might be the closest you'll get to a little slice of California along the front range.

The gentleman that ended the Sutherland Springs church shooting was down to two (2) rounds left in his AR15 when he/they started in pursuit of the scumbag.

You can carry six guns and thirty magazines, but most of us only have two hands and hopefully some common sense. I hope nobody on this board is placed in a circumstance like this, but think about it. Shopping for food and you hear the loud report of rifle fire in a confined space without hearing protection, your endorphins and adrenaline begins to pump instinctively while you spend a few precious seconds realizing what you just heard. Do you run toward the shots or away, no comment here on what somebody does, a choice you make individually. Your assessment in the few seconds that have elapsed what has set in with the majority of the populace in the store? Panic, people screaming, yelling, hiding, pushing and running to exit. Draw your weapon, search for the shooter, be mistaken for the shooter. On the chance or choice your weapon is drawn and you encounter the shooter, you have seconds to make a decision to engage, fire, strike the shooter sufficiently to stop the threat. If that isn't done with six or less rounds in mere seconds, the reality is you probably won't have to worry about reloading a magazine or a cylinder with a speed loader.

You guys are the ones who interjected that store had a Kosher focus. In reality, it's Kosher section was no bigger than other King Soopers in the area, including the store in Arvada across the street in one direction from where the perp bought his gun and across the street in the other direction from the family restaurant. I have no doubt that many Jewish people shopped there, including my friends, but that was not main customer base. All I am trying to do is correct misinformation about the event, the occurrence of which was the catalyst for this thread. I have 40 years of experience as customer in this EXACT store, but I guess that takes second fiddle to a post on Bob Johnson's Patriot Blog where they "Know The Truth".

My primary theory for why he targeted the store is that it was in Boulder, and everything that happens in Boulder unfortunately gets outsized attention. Secondary theories include the perception that the chances of running into a CCW are lower in Boulder (maybe right, maybe wrong) and the fact the Whole Foods temple in Boulder always has a BPD Officer on-site versus the part-time unarmed security at the King Soopers.

It is bluer than it was, but completely Marxist is a bit of a stretch. Anyway, how is old Pennsylvania doing it that department? How many percentage points did Trump beat Biden in 2020?

Boulder County actually has a relatively high per-capita level of carry permits and NFA holders. Of course, the local Progressive Activistocracy has blinders to all of that, especially local socially liberal groups who also support 2A.

I'm not in the "need more ammo" camp here.

I'm more concerned with my ability to reach out beyond across the card table distances: something I can easily do with my Colt 1911s. Precious few can do it reliably with small pistols regardless of the amount of ammo they have.

Went for my CC recertification recently. 16 of 18 people carried semi-autos. It's amazing how badly most of them sprayed the target with their small pistols.

I would hide.

True, that's why AR's are so rarely used to murder people in the USA.

The vast, vast, vast majority of gun homicides in the USA are from handguns.

Or how about the 3rd theory that no one seems to consider:

He was @#$%%% CRAZY and crazy people don't do logical things!?

Just over 1%.

And Pennsylvania is as red as red can get for most of its 67 counties, save for the 5th largest city in America, Philadelphia, which skews its voting trends.

Trump won 54 of its 67 counties.

I'll toss out a 4th theory. All of the above. Real life doesn't fit tidy labels. He could have been mentally unstable, influenced by anti-american jihadi terrorists, got rejected by a jewish girl on a date, and thought he paid too much for the beer he bought at that Krogers last week.

Sometimes the answer is A and B.

Right. I just don't understand why everyone always wants to "make sense" of the actions of a man who just murdered multiple people in a grocery store.

Who cares why he did what he did? The reason is he was evil, and evil will always exist in the world. That's one reason the 2nd Amendment exists.

We react to the whims of crazy people too much. We want to change our laws and adjust our freedoms because some nutcase did nutcase things. It makes no sense.
