Model 15-3 2 inch with serrated .312 trigger.

The Catalog of Smith and Wesson says that Model 15 with a 2 inch barrel came with a smooth .312 trigger. Also says that there was one reported with a serrated trigger but not confirmed. I have one with the .312 serrated trigger. Anyone else? Pic attached.

This 15-3 was ordered with RR/WO in 1974. I has a serrated trigger, but that is not mentioned in the letter. It was shipped to Simon Atlas Co. in Washington, DC.

AFAIK, almost everyone's is serrated. This is either a typo or an actual error in the SCSW which has not been corrected, except repeatedly on this forum.

Your trigger is .265" wide, not .312".

I'd love to know where all of you have found these 2" Model 15's.

I learned to shoot in the Air Force in 1967 with a Model 15. Two years later I was an instructor/range officer for that year's basic cadets...with the Model 15. A dream summer assignment. So the Model 15 is tied for my favorite handgun (with the Colt 1911).

But in all my years of looking in gun shops and shows I have never found a 2" Model 15. I could probably overcome my bias against 2" barreled revolvers with square butts to purchase one. IF I could find one at a reasonable price.

Sad to say, FPrice, but in several years of looking, I have never found one at a "reasonable" price. The market on all S&Ws, in particular pre-MIM/pre-lock has gone through the roof and will never get better. I gave up a long time ago looking for a 3 1/2" M27 for that reason. Not denying their value, just gone past where I am willing to go at age 63.

Depends on where you look...Right now in a Cabela's in Minnesota, there is a 2" nickeled 15-4, but when you said "reasonable" you probably didn't have in mind the $900 they're asking......Ben

I looked for one for years. 15-3. Found mine on a friend's table at a gun show. $500, wearing a set of Pachmayr Compacts. I ordered a set of grips from Thailand. It's my favorite gun. Serrated trigger. The marks are oil and fingerprints. It's not pristine, but it's better than the pictures
