If it weren't meant to be "serviced at home" they would not have used phillips screws

Can't fool me. Those are European WW2 aircraft national markings

..posted this twice already-I've worked with engineers for many years....even with software designed for engineering, they still screw simple things up....a lot of them are ''''not knowledgeable'' --to put it nicely

Just remember that 50% of all the graduating engineers are at the bottom of their class and still get a graduation certificate saying they are "Engineers."

I sure hope you were far better at presenting arguments in court than that or you would have starved to death!

As a recovering lawyer, I think that is a great argument.

Caje, just put a jumper wire around the door switch and see if it works, then you will know if it is the switch or the brain (control board). Who needs a door switch, if you leave the door open, you will find out soon.

This reminds me of what my Grandfather, a farmer, use to always say.

"Baling wire & a board n' nails make the farm work."

"Remember, never use force, just get a bigger hammer."

"If for some reason that doesn't work the the sure fire fix is a can of gas and a pack of matches."

Well I wasn't at the bottom...in fact I was in the upper 25%...but not #1 by far...that guy was a Geek! I never wanted to be an engineer... I was offered a scholarship by a company to become a suit.....er...Lawyer. Maybe I coulda worked for the SPLC....Nah! I coulda been like Caje...a small appliance repairman!

Question #1 of the man test: You are approached by an alien being and given a suitcase sized box. In it, you are informed is enough energy to power the worlds needs for 500 years. Do you
A} Give it to the UN
B} Give it to the President of the USA
C} Give it to the British Prime Minister
D} Take that sucker apart and find out what makes it work

Engineering truth #1: the results are always perfect for the choice that was made. There are more, but they’re not appropriate for this thread. I’d double the voltage. Tom H.

If you're a current college "student", you take it down the corner and trade it for a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill, vintage Saturday.

I have a few degrees in Engineering, but these T shirts from daughters #1 and #2 really say it all……
