So, am I the only one who has purchased these?
Also, are S&W Model 52's still being shot at Camp Perry?

Just wondering, what if:
You put an orig. 52 follower and spring in a 3K shell, what would happen?
And a 3K follower and spring in an orig. shell?
I know better than to buy 3K or Pro Mag magazines. I'd rather pile my $$$ in a small fire, at least I could see it burn.
52 OEM mags are the way to go, IMO. Look at the time, effort & postage you've wasted on your behalf. For a few $$ more, you could have had mags that fit & work perfectly.
I've got at least one 52 mag still in the OEM packing/wrap. I asked a mag vendor at a gun show years ago if he had a 52 mag? He thought for a minute, dug DEEP into his good-sized box of mags & pulled it out. Well, I felt obligated to buy it then.
All those years in the Corps & you go with the lowest bidder?![]()
A glance at the Camp Perry web site shows the following pistol catagories: .22 rimfire, centerfire, .45 service, CMP issued & Glock (yuck!). Based on the pics, the .22 & centerfire had a little bit of everything in there.
Did you have something constructive to add to this thread? If so I missed it.
Seeking bobsguns pardon and to respond to his comment: there's a limited supply of OEM magazines out there and they fetch a premium when found. I would imagine that eventually they will need replacement once they start to wear out or become damaged.
I'm sure AJ could of just bought some OEM mags but where's the sense of adventure in doing that?
I give AJ and also Keith Brown credit for testing, troubleshooting and tweaking these aftermarket mags in their efforts to get them to work reliably. Their research is doing 52-enthusiats a favor and if Triple-K makes production changes based on their feedback, even better.
I thank you both for your effort and for sharing the information with this forum.
They may well have a Model 52 for testing their design, but just because the magazines work in their Model 52 does not necessarily mean it will work in other Model 52's. Wilson's 1911 magazines are highly touted as being the best, but there are some 1911 clones out there that will turn a Wilson magazine into a malfunction drill magazine. I would wager that the best bet for a Model 52 magazine that is most likely to function in most Model 52's would require obtaining a new, unused S&W magazine and make an exact duplicate. This, of course, could bring up legal issues, even though S&W no longer makes nor sells Model 52's or their magazines.I know Colt_saa has done some testing on mags for manufacturers . I second in thanking AJ for ordering those mag's and then trying to diagnose and fix said mags . They should never have been let go from the factory in the described condition . Surely they had a 52 there to check the mags while they were designing and making the preliminary pieces . I think they'd have a money maker , probably not big money , but a money maker if they'd put out a decent and proper fitting mag .
How much did the triple - K mag cost?
I know they are a sub quality replacement .
But I would give $30 for one just to see
If I could make it work correctly.
When you go thru all the entries on this subject AJ your question becomes quite important. Has anyone purchased Triple K M-52 magazines and had them work right out of the box? If so, did they try them in another M-52 to see if they worked?
If none of the Triple K mags worked, that we know of, then it becomes an an exercise in futility.
The unknown in this of course is how many Triple K M-52 magazines actually worked that we never hear of. It's widely accepted that people almost never post a comment when they receive a good product, only bad ones.

I think it would be ludicrous if anyone active on our forum has experience with these and has not also shared their experience.Has anyone purchased Triple K M-52 magazines and had them work right out of the box?

I had gotten tired with trying to get the first set of the Triple k Model 52 Magazines to work and sent them back to them after talking with their customer service. I sent them with a letter stating just what problems i was having. That was in March/April. On Friday I was thinking of just telling them I wanted a refund, when a email from the customer service said my magazines had shipped. In todays mail were two new magazines. I tried them to see if they fit the mag well and they did. One ejects clean and the other needed a slight bit of assistance to drop free. Only have two dummy rounds of match wadcutter so I tried them. Both load into the mags fine. With the slide locked to the rear, both feed normally when the slide is released. When I cycle the slide by hand both eject and feed the next round just fine. So far I am happy with the results. I would guess they had to tweak the bodies some to get them to fit. I am watching for drag marks on the bodies. I believe the followers are still aluminum as they do not attract a magnet. I will try them on the range on Friday morning and report back.

Well, you’re right on 41 mags. I was thinking in terms of original magazines with metal follower. Just plug in m39 mags, they are more plentiful than m52s, but a lot more m39 series pistols sold. A nice factory mag will run you $50 +. I recently bought a m39 because it was in high condition with bunch of accessories, 7 factory mags & 2 3k. Out of 9 mags only one of the 3k’s are junk.Okay, that’s one argument. I don’t think it is a strong argument. The 52 was last made in 1993 and the Model 41 was last made NOT YET, so this is a very odd comparison. 41 is still in production and S&W still offers OEM magazines for it.
And Triple-K willfully chose to develop and market this magazine so that’s at least one industry professional who believes there is a market for them, even if apparently Mec-Gar does not agree.
