This morning’s CEO assassination in NYC

A $50,000 reward ? In 1964 they offered a $25,000 reward-the equivalent of about $200,000 + today-for information on the disappearance of the 3 Civil Rights workers.

The gun is probably a yard sale Canik with a home made suppressor.

I'm sure with the barely functional equipment, the 9mm ball, the so-so marksmanship (one in the back, one in the calf), the left behind backpack, the decision to lower his mask to flirt with the hostel girl, and the motivational messages scratched on his ammo, this is a top tier assassin now sipping a G&T with his lanky supermodel girlfriend on a non-extradition beach somewhere enjoying his exorbitant fee.

Or maybe he's filling his drawers in Atlanta waiting for his door to come flying in.

I bet we'll know by Tuesday.

I'm waiting for the big twist like this:

A former Maryland State Police commander suggested that UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson may have orchestrated his own assassination.

The words 'etched' on 3 live rds found at the scene were written on them with 'Sharpie Pen' according to a recent NYC news report.

Still unkn at least publicly is wether those particular 3 marked live rds were actually cycled thru the pistol during the shooting incident, either by need (misfire, or gun jamming) or if the shooter just had those 3 marked rounds in hand and dropped them on the sidewalk knowing his msg would be sent.

If the marked rounds were loaded into the magazine along with unmarked rds and the gun functioned perfectly, the 2 shots taken would have never dumped enough brass out to send the full msg. So why bother mark them to begin with. Better to just drop them
No one said how much brass and unfired cartridges total were recovered.

..Anyway, with the pics of the guys face unmasked (he just couldn't help but flirt with the Hostel desk gal and let her take his smiling face picture),,there must be a bunch of tips being phoned in to LE about who it could be. One name has to keep coming up.

I was surpised at the low 'reward'$$ offered as well. even at 50k now.
I guess they still don't want to pay.

Re: LE looking into the use of a 'Veterinary Gun'..
This angle may come from the mentioned B&T Station 6 pistol I posted earlier.
In that article describing it, the Station 6 was developed by the B&T company that made a 'Veterinary Pistol' called the VP9.

The VP9 is a very seldom seen handgun made to use specialized propietary ammunition expressly for the euthanizing of animals. It does not fire OTC sporting or military handgun ammo.
It looks however quite similar to the Station 6 pistol.
The Station 6 was developed from the VP9 and uses the same locked breech, manual operation, magazine feed system. The Surpressor is a standard item on the St6 and comes from the factory with it.

I notice on the NRA rundown/test of the Station6 in that article they say the trigger pull is 11lbs 8oz.
and has very changeable trigger pull leading up to let-off.
Something that could certainly lead to a wildly pulled shot in a tense situation.
The article also notes that rounds with certain bullet nose shapes would routinely start to feed from the magazine and into the chamber,,but then pop free before fully chambered and fall from the gun all together.

***** No one I've heard ever speculated that the gun used in the crime might be a Welrod pistol,,
The Station 6 was only being compared to the WW2 Welrod for it's manual operation system in that NRA article I posted as background to it.
One NYC news report stated that the pistol was possibly a B&T Station 6 9mm.
That's all they said (and I've never heard it mentioned again)
Never did anyone ever say it may be a Welrod pistol from WW2

So I simply looked up the B&T Station 6 and that's the NRA article posted. The Welrod is mentioned within that article,, that's all

Give the NRA article a read. Interesting pistol and back story if nothing else and the specs are at the end of the article.

Speculating is kind of fun as long as no one is shooting at you.

Authorities have narrowed down the focus of the search for the weapon used. This weapon was pointed out fairly early in this thread and thoroughly dismissed by the pundits. I'm guessing this thing needs a tax stamp to purchase, and I can't imagine there are that many in circulation, given the price and the tax stamp. Anyone who has had one stolen recently is in for an uncomfortable conversation, and may have already had it . . .

Cops probing if Brian Thompson's killer used 'veterinary' gun
