That’s right, you use to live closer to here before Ashtabula. The steam train is a treat, I usually go down Hillcrest rd to see it come around the bend and disappear around another bend. The whistle is a lot louder and higher pitched.

Yes I was one of roughly 50 Santa’s on the Polar Express, needed 10 Santa’s a night. Did it for 5 years, loved everything about it. Helped put a memory in a kid’s head when he was younger. When the CEO demanded shot mandates I quit, told him I wouldn’t volunteer as long as he worked for the park system.

Before the Polar we did the Mr Jingling runs for 2 years. One Santa, one train all the way to Akron and back. Was talking to the conductor and told him I was fascinated with trains from a kid. He got me up front where the engineers drove the train. Never thought I would see what the engineer does. Great experience.

We walk Hemlock Creek Trail and if the train is coming we’ll wait for it.

Heading that way tomorrow

I’ll be heading to my daughter’s tomorrow morning and plan to have dinner with her & her family. She lives about 20 minutes from Eric.

Will head to Eric’s around 7:30pm and have a bourbon before calling it a night.

Not sure what time we’ll head out Friday but looking forward to a nice meal at Nino’s…and leftovers to eat Saturday night once we get back to Eric’s house.

I’ll be bringing the pulled pork again…most expensive pork I’ve every smoked…not sure if the wifey will permit me to use again luckily my neighbor was walking around the neighborhood and helped extinguish the fire before the fire department arrived.
No damage to the butts

I’ll be bringing my collection of model 19’s minus the first one I purchased…a 19 nickle no dash…yes there’s a story behind it’s absence and if you want to hear about it I can share at the Bunch.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully some new faces.

This year I will put out a bowl for food donations if someone didn’t bring something to share. Admission and forum donations will also be there as usual.

Looks to be a little cooler weather Saturday with rain clearing and clouds. I would rather have it a little cooler.

If anyone needs .40 S&W ammo let me know. 20.00 a box factory new. I’m not lugging a bunch there to bring back home.

Glad to see you posting and in good spirits Pete. Judging from the photo, that looks like a pretty substantial fire.

Working in a forge shop for 40 years, I've seen more than my fair share of them. Enough to say you did a damn good job by being able to put it out.
