In Savannah at my usual hotel when at 1:01 the fire alarm goes off and everyone has to go downstairs. Since I like top floor( usually quiet) long down stairs trip with bad knee and hurting right hip. Fire Dept. comes, 10 minute wait and all clear. “ Equipment problem” so now can’t go back to sleep. ERRRRRRR.

My favorite was when the fire alarm went off at our hotel on Waikiki at 3 a.m. - and the first recorded message was in Japanese! After about a minute, there was a message in English.

Talk about alarm fatigue, though: I went out on the balcony - noted no sirens and no smoke smell, and we went back to bed. Complained about it the next morning and got a room credit. :)

Anyhow, sorry to hear it, Greyman50 - hope you have a good rest of your trip. My wife and I have plans to visit Savannah in December (staying at a place called Perry Lane), and I'm looking forward to strolling around and eating good food. :)

Was at the Arlington (TX) Hilton for a meeting years ago when some one called in a bomb threat around midnight. We were all instructed to gather in the parking lot. I remember thinking that if there was a bomb we were much too close to the building.

It was a somewhat rewarding experience, though. American Airlines was conducting training for new flight attendants in the same hotel. Some of them didn't take time to change into street clothes.

Be sure and eat at the Pirates House, oldest structure in Savannah and the ghost stories are great if you can get the staff to talk. Late wife and I been going there for years, now meet granddaughter there for lunch and like yesterday went by myself but lady bar tender that I, we know was not there. Going back next weekend as there is a gun show but not expecting much, but beats sitting around.

That must have been a long time ago. The last several times I flew American, there were few flight attendants under 50, except for the males.:(
