I started running this forum in late December, 2008. So, we have been together here for more than 16 years!
We have grown steadily all those years because you good folks came here and built a community, and it is a great one!

It costs money for you to live, and it costs money for a forum to live. Like everything else in your lives, it costs more than it used to. Servers, software, IT help, security, and screening out all the spammers and scammers adds up, and ad revenue just won't pay for all of it. It does not come close!

If this forum means something to you, I’m asking you to upgrade to a Supporting Membership today. Doesn’t matter which level, just pick one that works for you. It'll keep the lights on and the place running the way it should. Acting as a community with many doing just a little, we can keep in going.

You can upgrade here: Account Upgrades

Thanks for what you have built here, and for your support through the years.

Lee Jarret: Thank you for all your efforts! I just upgraded. I learned the hard way (twice) from past experiences that maintaining a site isn't 'free' and and even when funding is provided, one person can't do it forever and on their own. Two sites I used to frequent a LOT both disappeared after years of activity - one was because the original host server made changes and the site had no where to go to migrate years of posts and pictures. The second because one person maintained the site and server for years, grew old, and didn't have it in them to continue. The second was a historical site and a LOT of valuable information evaporated forever. After that, I found a similar site, became a member and made it a priority donate on top of the standard annual membership fee every year since then. Younger people will eventually grow older and will appreciate what the past generations have done.

I hope Mr. Jarret isn't a 'one-man-show' and is training someone to eventually take the reins so the site and server has a solid future. Technologies change (like it or not) and if we don't evolve, we lose in the end - example: I still prefer hard-copy magazines arriving in the mail and I know that I'm not alone but I'm definitely in the minority now days. I'm relatively new to this site so don't know a lot of the history behind the forum. Please consider reposting the OP's message annually (or more frequently) at other locations on this site to solicit donations.

I’m not computer savvy enough to enjoy the benefits of membership within the Site but I can read. Personally I can report that my $200 dollar membership has SAVED me MORE in purchases than $200 dollars each year.
Massive amount of information to explore on 90* heat with 90% humidity afternoons.

Thanks to ALL who “pull the strings behind the curtain.”

I'm 68 years old now, and many guys and gals are older than me. That helps me and others when we have weird health issues that others have gone through, just like our firearms get older and develop issues. Where I live I don't have many animals that call me "dinner" unless I'm already dead. Great advice such as don't kiss alligators, don't try to feed apples to bears, never trust a fart, etc. If a bullet gets stuck in the barrel of your revolver, trying to "shoot it out" with more powerful bullets doesn't work. When I had the prostate cancer, quite a few people reached out in private messages. People who I've never met actually cared and gave advice. Car people, tradesmen of all types, etc., etc. help a lot of other folks. Most of all, no cussing and swearing, no nudity, even from the drunken former sailors. Also, thank goodness we aren't graded on grammar & spelling! And then there are the gun pictures and help with issues for all brands of knives & firearms.
Special thank you to all!
