    Shield 40 and "regular" M&P 40

No mag problems with my Shield 40. "All this talk" sounds like a small noise in a tin barn. Little noise, lots of racket reverberating around..

Difference in Shield and M&P pistols

I have put several boxes of rounds trough my Shield .40 without any problems. Eats everything and no mag drop either. I am one who pocket carries the Shield in jeans, slacks, and cargo shorts. Highly concealable. Would not work with a double stack.

Unless something changed, the MSRP is $449. Dealer honesty?

    Good purchase! Have fun!

Just got my Shield 9mm tonight

Great first gun, very forgiving. Eats everything I feed it. Shooting is more than the gun. It is stance, sight picture, breathing, and practice. Have fun.

    Shield 40

Why don't you rent one and find out first hand. "True double tap" is a nebulous label without much meaning. I don't have any trouble with rapid fire using my Shield 40.

    Shield carry during summer!

I usually go with cargo shorts and a T shirt. The Shield 40 fits fine in the my pocket. I found a cheap pocket holster that works great. The outer skin of the holster clings to the inside of the pocket for easy presentation. It also works for slacks.

    New M&P .40

As far as I am concerned, the stock trigger mechanism is fine. I would need to try one of the altered guns to see if it made a significant difference before I would invest in the change.

Good Day with the Shield 40

Seven yards. I practice at self-defense distances. A 3" barrel isn't a target gun, but I am not unhappy with the result at 21'.

Good Day with the Shield 40

Not much to say, but all I had time for was to fire off two Mags. Couple of flyers, but all on the plate.

    Goodbye Glocks!

Go ahead, keep um! Buy an American gun. Help your neighbor make a living. Oh, and it shoots well too.

    Ordered a Shield 40 today

When I got mine, I was prepared to call every lgs within 100 miles. Found the Shield 40 just 42 miles away. Bought it on the phone. Have a "range" in my back yard. It is a 2' diameter chunk of log sitting on a stump. I draw a circle on a paper plate and tack it up and bang away. Shoot a...

    Bit by the Shield bug

Good for you on the Shield 40. I find mine very manageable and accurate rapid fire is possible. Getting back on target is a matter of technique. It is my regular comfortable pocket carry.

    Well, it happened! (Shield .40)

The Shield .40 replaced my Bersa .380 which I enjoyed and shot well with. I don't get as tight groups as with the Bersa, but I am improving. What amazes me is that the .40 is not much more snappy than the BT .380.

    M&P Shield 40 - report on kick

I certainly have no regrets about getting the .40 Shield. Self-defense distance is 3 to 5 yards. That's how I practice. I practice both left and right single handed as well as with both hands. I find the Shield .40 very manageable with either hand as well as with both hands. Personally...

    Woot! New Shield

I think you will like your shield. I know I do. I got the .40 cal. Shoots well without the expected kick. It works as a pocket carry for me.

    Found one

No, not a Shield. Already had one. I have been looking for a pocket holster for my Shield .40. Well, I found one cheap that works for me. I don't even know what the brand is. I just stopped by a little gun shop on the side of the road and found a $14 number 4 (whatever that means). It fits...
