Goodbye Glocks!

M&P! Glocks have been hyped up for so many years, I Love my m&p compact but every once in a while I get hypnotized into wanting a Glock because of all the buzz, until I put one in hand. And than I get a reality check.

I made the mistake of trading one of my Glocks (Gen3 G27) for a Subcompact XD .40 and a Norinco 54-1. I absolutely hated the XD's functions. It shot VERY smooth, great trigger and reset but the mag release and stiff spring and SS slide were terrible to function in drills. I bought a Gen 4 27 and sold the XD to the first person that would buy it. I'd never met a gun I didn't like (I love the Norinco and my Nagant M1895) but I could not settle on the XD. I dislike the triggers on the Sigma's and M&P (older models). This is just my experience and I carry a Gen4 G22 on my part time jobs and a S&W revolver or S&W 5906 on the full time job. My opinion doesn't count for too much though as I have a Colt Gold Cup that I don't really care for so I'm all kinds of different! I still love my Glocks!

My M&P spoiled me.

I sold my last Glock today.

Congrats!

My only problem with my M&P is that fits me so perfect, that other center fire semi-auto pistols (1911 excluded) don't feel right.

It sort of takes the fun out of perusing the displays at the LGS.

Traded my G23 strait up for a 40 Shield. Until Smith makes a polymer striker fired 10mm I am keeping my G20sf and my 29sf. Smith makes solid guns. Glocks makes good weapons also. There are Glock and Smith kool aide drinkers just the flavors are different. Best to recognize that each carry the gun the are comfortable with and shoot well. A good shooter can shoot well with any tool better with some tools than others.

I've had dozens of Glocks since the early 1990's. Thought I'd be a Glockman forever. However, after reading about the M&P's on this forum, I bought a 40 Pro, then a 40c. I had 5 Glocks 2 weeks ago, only one left, and I believe I found a home for it as well. So I will be Glockless for the first time in 20 years.

I have many Glocks and love them all, just got a M&P a couple of months ago and love it too. I'll just buy more of both when I can. Oh and I like Ruger, HK, Colt, Springfield and what ever else I can get my hands on!!!

My 2012 M&P 9 FS does not hold a candle to my Glock 19's in the accuracy department.

Here is a 36 foot shot group with the M&P standing unsupported - sustained rate of fire onto a 7" paper plate. My stock Glocks will clover leaf center mass everytime at the same distance at the same rate of fire.

The ergo is superior on the M&P and it's a very soft shooter...I just wish it shot (accuracy) as good as it feels.

i don't really care for Glock pistols, they are good and shoot fine but i just do not like the grip, if S&W would make an M&P in 10mm i'd never own another glock until then i will keep the 20sf. i have the M&P 45 compact and it is ok but i miss the M&P9 and M&P 357 sig.

I started out with a Glock as my first centerfire pistol. It was an early Gen 2 G17. I sold it and went through various other pistols, starting with a tenth anniversary M9 package, back to a G19. I sold that and was exclusively into long guns for a while. I bought an OD G17 and still have it. Parts and mags are easy to find relative to everything except a 1911.

I found myself with my some extra money bought an M&P9 several years ago. I got mine from Bud's for right at $400 including the transfer fee. I put a few rounds through it and then put it back in the box where it sat until earlier this year when I took both the G17 and the M&P9 to compare them... I discovered that I could shoot the M&P better than the Glock.

I've had it on my hip or in my hands since then, except when the old Melonited striker broke and I got one of the new ones.

I'm not getting rid of the Glock because it's a good pistol and it's one of the OD models. That and I no longer sell guns. I always lose money and I sometimes regret selling them later...

I just bought my first M&P pistol (Shield) for the compact size and thin profile. After one trip to the range I'll say it is a nice pistol, it shoots accuately, and it functioned 100% (review in this forum).

Nice gun, but I doubt I'll be selling any of my GLOCKS over it. I guess I'm one of the "odd-balls" who likes the feel of a GLOCK grip.

To each his own I guess.

Bought my 9mm Shield because it is a single stack 9mm and wanted something to replace my Ruger LC9 as my EDC. And because Glock does not offer a single stack 9.

I never considered an M&P prior to the purchase of my Shield. Only S&W pistolas I owned prior to my Shield purchase is a M686, M642 and M41.

My G23 Gen2 and G17 Gen4 are my only Glocks at present and they are more to my liking than the M&P pistolas in their respective sizes...

Well said

I have been carring Glocks on duty for over 15 years. I've been to Glock shooting school and armorers school and POST Firearms Instructors school all on my department.

I don't like them never have. I just bought the M&P 45 without the thumb safety. (I work part time in a gun store...they get all of my money and I wonder why they hired me??? lol.)

I took her out sighted her in and enjoyed a 100 rounds of pure joy. IT IS my new carry gun..and we do our quals this next week....perfect!

I have to say it is so superior to a Glock in all ways. I have heard comments about the trigger sucking...I like it but I have shot revolvers on duty (Years ago 1985.) at my first department.

Then the Glock craze arrived...

Here's a shot of mine.

Congrats
