Who makes the M&P mags that are sold by S&W?

So what is Mec-Gar's problem. There simply aren't any 9c mags to be had, and it's been that way for months.

My guess would be that S&W, along with all the other manufacturers that MecGar makes mags for, order their mags in large numbers on an annual basis. Once the order is made, production is planned. Given the recent upturn in buying pistols, MecGar is probably working at capacity and couldn't make any more mags than they already are. Smith may want more mags, but can't get more because of production limitations. I think the demand for M&P's took Smith by surprise. I don't know if they can increase their order at the next negotiation, maybe not if all brands want more mags. Time will tell. I handled this by watching a bunch of suppliers and ordering when they had mags in stock at a price I was willing to pay (not $100 ea
) so now I can't foresee a time (in the near future) when I will need any more. I've got 10 for each pistol so I should be set for the next year (or so).

I would like to have more for the 9c, but, the ability to use the 17 round FS mags is a plus and I do have several of those.

When did S&W start selling mags. I ordered one in June 2013 and have not received it yet

S&W manufactures the magazines.
Mec Gar makes the bodies. S&W imports the bodies for all the pistols except the M&P-45 from Mec Gar, sources the other components domestically and assembles them on-site in their factory.
Other than the compact magazines, we have no problem getting magazines from S&W for resell.

Yeah, can't find any 9c clips anywhere, 10 OR 13 round. Finally got a 17 round. Now keep hollow points in the c clips for defense carry & FMJs in the 17 for range use.
If Smith's supplier can't keep up with demand, why don't they sub out to multiple suppliers?

Don't you think they would if they could? They are in business to make money, if they don't have product to sell, they don't make any money. I suspect all the manufacturing capacity is producing as much as they can. If they could wave a magic wand and all the magazines that people want would appear, I'm sure they would.

Likewise, jsmokey; I ordered one measly mag from S&W in April of 2013 and haven't heard a thing despite sending off 5 email inquiries about it. I get the standard shrink-wrapped canned response saying "...we received your message and are assigning it to a representative. Due to the high volume of correspondence we are receiving it may take 5 days for a response..."
And this, of course, leads nowhere.

I'd still like to know who makes the 45acp magazines. It seems nobody can answer that one.

Why didn't you order them from a retailer who has them in stock? Since April of last year I've bought 10, 17round mags from Quantico Tactical and Midway (at a cheaper price than S&W suggested retail) and a couple 12 rd compact mags. There have been times when the suppliers have been out of stock during that period but not for any extended period of time. Quantico has them in stock now.
