'Spotted a 28-2...6"...S/N N582XXX...1980 mfg?? 'All original w/perfect magna-grips...'Light surface-rust, in several spots, which I'm fairly confident will "clean-up." 'No bluing-wear, whatsoever...anywhere...'Lock-up is "as-new," and appears to have been fired very little...I can get it for $485, out-the-door...'Fair price??

Thanks, in advance.

You'll probably have some people say that's too high, and someone else will probably tell you how they bought one x-years ago for only x-number of dollars. You don't say where you're located, but around where I live, that's a good/fair price for one in the condition you describe. I'd buy it.

These days wouldn't it be safe to say that any all steel S&W .357 in good or better condition would be worth $500 minimum? If we are buying, we may wish that was not the case but it seems like it is.

When I'm out cruising the shops, any steel S&W under $600 catches my eye, under $500 gets my attention and under $400 gets my wallet out.
