One for sale locally, I'm not buying it, but I was wondering is $700 reasoable for this gun? I know they're desireable, but that still seems high to me.

NZ this has been discussed of late ,,over and over again.
What a gun is worth is exactly what a motivated buyer is willing to pay ,and a motivated seller is willing to sell for.

Being a 3" model 66 collector myself ,I can only tell you that
these guns earn their praise and reputation.
They shoot like much larger guns and carry like much smaller ones.

There is a certain look about the 3" barrel with the shrouded
underlug on the round butt frame that drives auction buyers crazy.

All that said , I have 5 of these little suckers , and have paid between $500. and $700. for each.

3 things to remember when buying a used gun, 1. Condition. 2. Condition. 3. Condition.

Good luck and good night , Allen Frame

I just paid $500 for a 3" inch 65 with matte finish and great action, rubber aftermarket stocks.

The 3 inch model 66 has a mystique about it. I have a 3 inch 66-4, paid $500 for it a little over a year ago. Was actually looking for a 2 1/2 inch and planning on spending around $450 - $475. When the 3 inch presented itself I just could not resist.

Would I sell mine for $700? Maybe. Once you have shot one of these beauties you really become attached to it.

All models of S&W P&R revolvers seem to be much cheaper in other parts of the country than the pacific N.W. ANYTHING under $400 is either really ratty or very common. A model 10-5 will bring $500. Clean 64's 65's 66's and 67's under $400 just do not exist. ANYTHING in .22 or .22 mag is $500 up if you can find them. K 22's -17 or18 easily $150-$200 higher, again they are just not there. 3" model 65 at $350? dream on. Saw a ANIB blue model 19 2 1/2" at the last show for $750 with interest. We are in Microsoft land and people here know national trends before they become trends. People around here know that the P&R S&W's are a solid investment, screw the asking price, there will be no more manufactured, period. BUY IT! or some one else will while you wait for lower prices as they all vanish

Model 65 3" for $475 shipped - I was quite happy with it.

One for sale locally, I'm not buying it, but I was wondering is $700 reasonable for this gun? I know they're desirable, but that still seems high to me.

$700 for a 3" 66-2 is within its current market value range, especially if it is as-new and has the box, etc.

If you are looking for a shooter at a lower price, agree a 3" 65 is a good alternative...and yes, they are available in the $350 range. Have a look at Allans-Armory.com (no, I am not Allan, one too many L's and the wrong state).

Yes, a clean pre lock 3" 66 is well worth $700.

Evidently I got ripped off on the NIB, unfired except for the factory 3" 65-3 I bought Saturday at the show. I gladly paid the $495 tariff.

Please advise where the $350 3" 65's are. I need a shooter. Regards 18DAI.

I think you did well for a NIB M65 3" for $495. I go one in really good shape for $475 shipped, plus the transfer. A little high, but it's mine.

Thanks for the link on those M65 3"s, but I can't abide a rusty gun.

Enfield ,,if you have a line on a good clean model 65 3" for
$350. I would like one please.
I have not seen one for a while for less than $450. and sellers
are asking $500. and getting it around here.

Regards ,, Allen Frame

I bought one last year, locally, for $350 and it came with 3 boxes of Federal ammo.

The guns on Allans Armory are extremely picked over - a couple of months ago he had a dozen 3" M65's.

+1 Samtu - I will take ten myself for that price. Heck, I would take a half dozen 2.5 inchers for that.
