I spotted this early one at a pawn shop yesterday.

It's not in great shape but I thought having two stars on the butt was interesting. I have a .44 TL with one star but have never seen one with two.

The cylinder matches

The barrel matches. Does the B in the diamond indicate a rebarrel?

I wasn't able to pull the grips off to see if they match and to see if there are two dates stamped on the frame. It's marked $330. What do y'all think?

Two stars on the butt would seem to indicate two trips back to the factory. I used to have a Safety Hammerless 38 that had two stars and two different dates under the grips.

As to the price, being a bit frugal I would try to get it for less, maybe offer 275 and see if they're willing to deal. It does have a bit of finish wear and maybe some exterior pitting based on your pics. If it has a good, clean bore with no pitting I might go 330

I don't think $300 is outrageous for that one. A little high, maybe, but it is interesting due to its two trips back to the Mothership.

Here is a Model of 1903 5th Change, that I picked up at an Ohio auction in 2013. It cost me $450 including shipping and FFL fees, and included the box and the twisted wire cleaning rod. This is what they look like when they have sat in the box for 100 years. It shipped in March 1916.
