586 who has one and loves it?

I've had a few over the years........I've always liked the L-frame guns and prefer the blued ones.

I currently have two M-586 No Dashes. One of them is a very early one with a DOB of 1980 (AAA62xx serial number). The other one is a 1983 model and is one of my favorites to carry on hikes or just when I'm kicking around in the woods. ;)

Best revolver in the S&W lineup IMO. No collection is complete with out at least one of these babies

586-1M purchased at gun show in the early 90's. Very smooth double action. If the police market wouldnt have changed to semi autos the L frame would be the standard bearer.

Certainly one of the better balanced pieces out there.
I love mine... tough choice for me now Colt 1911 Series 70 or S&W 586 no dash 4".

I think the L-frame is just right for the .357 Mag. I have a four inch 586 plus, looks a bit weird with that extra hole in the wheel but is a good shooter!

No dash 4" here. I don't have any pretty pictures but y'all know what one looks like. Add an action job, chamfered charge holes, ball-detent on the crane and some Ahrends Combat FG grips. Like buttahh.

I always loved the Model 19. I bought my first 586 when the shop I would haunt, brought in it's first one. It became mine and since then, the 586 is still my favorite 357.

I bought the first 6" 586 (no dash) to hit the Memphis area in 1980. I'm sad to say that S&W screwed this one up. The gun shot low and left despite any sight adjustment. Groups looked more like patterns. On its second trip back to the factory I wrote a really nasty letter saying the gun's only use was as a paper weight! I guess they paid attention that time because what I got back was the best shooting .357 I've ever owned. I'll never part with it. :D
And no, I never had the factory modification made. Never had any problem with it.

I also have a 4" 586-3 that I bought used maybe 15 years ago. The previous owner had it worked over by Phoenix Armory. I got the paperwork with the gun. Action job, recut forcing cone, chamfered cylinder, the whole shootin' match!
I use this when I shoot SSR class in IDPA. Great gun! :D

Everyone should own a 586. Mine's a special run 586-7. Just a beautiful gun that shoots as good as it looks. Very accurate. Fantastic (typical S&W) trigger. Love it.

I have a 586 no dash 6''.....I think it needs some new grips just has a set of Uncle Mike's on it. I really like it. But I love my 29-2 8 3/8''

Not a 586, but the price was right, and it shoots like nobodies business ;)
