A most disquieting experience.

Yesterday I assumed my position on the porch swing. Around mid afternoon Ruthie was at Wal-Mart, Logan was across town doing a large lawn job and JR was inside creating yet another art masterpiece.

I heard the sound of a kicker box thumping coming towards me. It was an old beat up light gray Honda Civic occupied by four young people from south of the border. They crept up the street at 5mph. I thought it odd.

20 minutes later they came back crawling at the same speed. My spidey sense went off. I believe they were casing the neighborhood for open garage doors, porch packages or other targets of opportunity.

I went inside and grabbed my little pocket companion, my LCP.

30 minutes later they came back. I didn't brandish but I stood up and glared at them. They sped up and took off.

Today, an hour hour after I assumed my porch stationary and they came back. I called the police and related my experience with a description of the car and occupants.

They thanked me for my concern and said they would notify and give the description to all their patrol officers to have them identify themselves and see what they are up to.

I got a call a little while ago from the police. That spotted them, pulled them over and asked for ID. Surprise, surprise they were here illegally.

ICE, ICE baby!

Thanks for being an attentive and concerned neighbor. Oh ya, be careful you don't pop a hole in the wrong sack with that thing in your lap.....

One early winter morning years ago I came home off a late shift and as I drove don't the street, I noticed fresh footprints leading up to each house. It immediately struck me as being too early for the local paper boy out delivering. So, I took a drive around a couple more streets and saw similar tracks. I headed home and called our Sheriff's 911 and gave them the info. The next day an investigator called and stated that the deputy patrolling that zone followed up and along with his faithful K-9 partner caught 2 guys just coming out of a house they'd broken into. Along with other goodies, they had 7 guns. After getting a warrant, they searched their residences and came up with loads of goodies from 35 other tri-county burglaries.

Not too long ago I saw a guy who periodically would drove through our development. Something about this guy didn't seem quite right. I managed get my cell phone out and fake a conversation as he came towards me and got a nice video of him and his vehicle. Gave this to a state investigator who did a check of the vehicle and driver. Turns out this guy was/is a Level 1 Sex offender, and since his actions/location were a violation of his parole he's now getting state paid room and board for another few years. 👿

You believed your racist guess without any evidence. None.
is there really a problem here, with a conscientious observant homeowner reporting their legitimate concerns and observations to a proper authority....? Or are people supposed to keep turning a blind eye in that foolish hope that bad things won't happen in their nice neighborhood.

Hopefully "Rusty's" sheriff pays some sort of accolades upon him . . . . . . (y)
