Chevy, Ford & Toyota are what the cars are called. So what I have seen on the inside and read about the drive train, my question is, what parts are actually from the automakers, if any. Or is it just the money?
all the bodies of the cars are exactly the same. the only thing different is the logo on the front of the car.
Basically NONE.
Rear end is Ford style 9".
Toyota manufactures the engine block and heads, everything else is Nascar approved aftermarket manufacturers.
Hutter in Chardon Ohio used to build the Chevy Nascar truck series engine,IIRC nothing was of Chevy manufacture.
The NHRA dragsters on the other hand still get faster and faster.
Been thinking on what could bring NASCAR back to using real cars but it would be hard and I am not sure fans would support it. If they could come up with the right set of rules I would pay my money to see STOCK cars race!
I couldn't agree more. Let them run what the manufacturer builds with necessary safety features added. IMO we'd also get far more interesting cars in the showroom as a result as well!
