I have ordered from Amazon.com almost since its inception. Over the last five or six years I've not bought much from them. Then over the last three months I've found what I thought were some good deals at Amazon and have been impressed by their prices (on the items I bought), delivery, and customer service.

The items I've been buying usually qualify for free shipping. Last week I was ordering another pocket knife, which qualified for free shipping. During the checkout process a box popped up and asked... Do You Want Free Two Day Shipping? I thought, sure this is a $100 pocket knife send it two-day. Before the confirmation email arrived I realized I had just signed up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, which I believe is now $99 per year. I did not panic, I had 30 days to cancel the membership.

I decided to give it a couple of weeks before I decided whether or not to cancel the membership. I'm exploring the benefits from streaming movies, music, and TV to free delivery of low priced purchase items and groceries. I'm getting up there in years now and it would be nice to have a service that would deliver things in case I'm having difficulty getting out for some reason. The free movies and TV catalog did not impress me and I have not figured out how to stream from Amazon to my Chromecast. I'm not a big TV watcher anyway. I think a new TV or Internet Thing Device will be needed to utilize the streaming services on my A/V setup.

I'm sure we have people here that have experience with Amazon Prime. I'd appreciate hearing about the good, bad, or whatever of it.

It might be worth a $100 a year to me, I just do not know. Thanks.

I dislike Jeff Bezos, but Amazon Prime is a great deal.product. They have as many or more videos as any other site and the free shipping is great. Just make sure you make a lot of small orders so old Jeff will pay for a lot of shipping.

Once or twice a year Prime is offered at around the $70 mark.

There's a lot of other perks with Prime Membership than just the 2 day shipping.

I enjoy most of the Amazon produced TV shows like Bosch.

The FREE music and video library id huge but may not have the most recent releases FREE.

There's also Kindle books that includes Some S&W books.

I've bought shooting supplies at great prices only offered to Prime members.

Having Prime helps a lot around holiday time.

Amazon Prime

This service is really valuable if you order from amazon alot. It is also valuable if you like to check out books, view movies on their list. Overall we order alot of things from amazon so we do not have to pay for shipping which pays for itself at the end of the year. I recommend it.

I have been a Prime Member for years, they kind of ruined online shopping for me from other vendors. I order enough from them yearly that $99 is paid back just having stuffed shipped to me 2 day, 1 day, and sometimes even same day, at no extra cost. The shows my son enjoys for free and the music app my wife listens to is just a bonus. If they would offer Chromecast integration into Prime Videos I would drop cable. Which I still may here soon that my Comcast "promotion" period is almost up and my bill will be stupid. And also I can stream Prime Videos through my PS4. If we weren't so addicted to our DVR with a ton saved on it it would be a no brainer.

I've used it for 5-6 years. Its gotten to where I go there first rather than make a 25 mile trip into town. Started years ago trying to find vacuum bags for a sears vacuum. Sears didn't have them after 2 trips (4 x 25 miles + traffic + time) so tried Amazon. They were delivered in 2 days and less expensive than Sears. We get one or two shipments a week now. Just ordered "Alexis" the talking thing. Saw it at a friends and was totally impressed. What the temperature outside? Tell me a joke. Play the rolling stones. Order some more Alpen cerial. How is AT&T stock doing? You ask the question and Alexis gives you an answer immediately.

I've used Amazon Prime for 4- 5 years now, It is worth the $99.00 yearly fee.
.......
Just stop and think what's your time worth.

Same here. I don't really calculate the value in dollars and cents, but $99 divided by 12 months is chickenfeed, and it has saved me countless little trips to big box stores, specialty stores, what have you. Need some 5-dollar doo-dad for whatever? You can hop in the truck and drive to Wal-mart, or just click on it and have it in two days, even Sundays. So maybe I'm getting fat, old and lazy, but Prime is just one luxury I grant myself. The videos and such are just a nice bonus.

Did the trial and canceled. Multiple "Prime 2 day free delivery" items took more than a week. Typically you only need to order $49 for the same free delivery. I can wait to order and wait for delivery.

Their streaming service had nothing we wanted to watch and was clumsy to navigate.

Didn't need another membership. For the record, I find more stuff on walmart.com than amazon when it comes to reloading :)

Alexis- got my Dau one for Christmas.
I'm afraid it would completely push me over the edge of lazy.
Like - Alexis- play Parchment Farm.
'The Parchment farm is the State run farm- prison in the state of Mississippi.'
No Alexis! Bad Dog!
Mose Allison!
Now she gets it!

Had Prime for about 3-4 years.......free shipping on almost everything..... would guess the $100/year has saved me 111 hours over the past 6 months.... that's the number of things I've ordered............

Christmas gifts to pocket knives...... flashlights...cat food(found the local pet store had closed/ emergency bag of food in 2 days) .. a $11.79 tube of Fireplace mortar ( wouldn't even know where to look locally) to $4.99 tube of Loctite jell....... to a +$200 bed rail for my Nissan Frontier for IIRC $149.

LOL a english tea my wife likes 480 bags $23.79...... local Giant Eagle $10 for 80 bags.

Generally find what I want online in minutes....... it on my doorstep in 2days/48hours.

I had Amazon Prime for a few years before it jumped to a hundred dollars. I liked it very much, and bought a lot of shooting supplies with it. It was, and is, a great convenience. The problem for me is my income and taking care of the kids just doesn't allow for that extravagance.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Is that some kind of ad that I've missed out on, or just jibber-jabber?
