Amazon Prime - Opinions?

My wife got it and loves it. I do too, I use her account all the time :D
If you order a little bit throughout the year the $99 break even really quick. Plus you get free 2-day shipping.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Is that some kind of ad that I've missed out on, or just jibber-jabber?

Its a song. I asked Alexis for a song.
She gave me an explanation of the prison that the song is written about.
Parchment farm is very similar to Huntsville just up the road from Houston.

Have said it before - the value of Prime is the time / fuel / effort saved vs. schlepping 'round a major city to find&buy stuff. The streaming service is excellent; Spotify is a plus. Easily worth the $$ to me. My only quarrel is the continued (oxymoron) Smartpost handoff... when I want two-day delivery that I can track, USPS = fail on both counts. However, I do appreciate the new same day service on some items; hard to fault that. Bosch, The GT, Man in The High Castle are excellent original programming.

Amazon Prime is the devil! I love it!!! Government employees deliver 30lbs of dog food for $0. Greatness! They are going to run everyone out of business and we will eventually be slaves to them! Just plain evil!

The few USPS hand-offs I've experienced recently have been impressive. Amazon's own delivery has been impressive. I've had two Sunday deliveries in a row from AMZ and did not ask for them. When something is passed to the USPS and I get the tracking number and I go to USPS.com enter the number and ask for email updates. It has worked well. Right now I have a version of Saber pepper spray on order from Amazon that is only available to Prime members. It is what I consider police quality. It should be here Thursday and cost about what a key chain pepper spray spritzer would cost at a regional sports and outdoors retailer that I frequent.

I'm leaning to Prime.

I have been a member for over five years now and remain happy with the service. I also appreciate the Amazon.com streaming over their firestick and "Harry Bosch" is one of the best TV offerings anywhere.

We have begun buying digital DVDs and love having the movies available at any time with the pressing of a button and not have to worry about storing the plastic DVD and case.

Also have begun using the Pantry more and more and discovered their canned cat food beats the price offered by any supermarket in the county; all delivered in two days for free.

Their return policy has been painless and could not be any easier. Can't wait for their air delivery to get more widespread and available.

I was very impressed they offered the 3rd edition of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson for free in the Kindle edition.

I would guess in the five + years we have been members they have failed to get our "stuff" to us in two days just under ten times. Disappointed in that but guess it is not too bad.

I recommend it to you.

I enjoy all of the above benefits...and when I do watch tv, I love old movies, like film noir, gangster movies, etc. Amazon has a gazillion of these free with prime. I am a lot like the op, though, I watch very little tv, but it is nice to have, and I can watch on my iPad, computer, or tv here at the camp. When you switch from one device to another, it picks up where you left off on the other device, so if I'm stuck in the Drs office, I can pick up on a movie that I'm watching, even if it has been days since I've paused it!!!

If you are having problems streaming, I'm sure someone can help you get set up...give it a try while you are on the free month.

Best Regards, Les

Count me in as another Amazon Prime lover. Ditto what all the others have said, shipping, movies, tv, etc. We use it all.

And even better: As a nice perk of the wife's job, her employer pays the fee!

I've had Prime for 4 or 5 years now. If they don't get their act together real quick with the slow shipping that I pay extra for I'm going to dump them.

You MUST shop wisely on Amazon. A real advantage to having two computer monitors is that I can compare prices easily. Some items are WAY overpriced.

With the free shipping you will almost always pay a little more for the product. But if you take into consideration how many trips you will have to make to one, two, or even three different stores..... You will save money with Prime.

Prime video is ok. We watch more Netflix than anything else. But Prime has more movies to choose from. I just wish they would add/change content more frequently.

We've had it for a couple of months. The free video selection is poor, but there were a few shows that made it worth while, for a while. Purchases ARE to easy and free shipping is a huge advantage. We may cancel soon but are going to investigate a bit more.

i figure prime is cheaper than the gas i would use getting little stuff.
if i understand your post, you may need a roku to plug into your tv.
then, you get tons more than amazon.

I like hard copies of cd's and have bought several from Amazon over the years. When I got Prime all the cd's I'd bought over the years were stored in my library - nice touch! I've got an Amazon Kindle that has surprisingly good sound that I use as a little jambox.

Let me testify about Amazon customer service, I bought a Benchmade folder that was advertised as coming with a Smith's pocket sharpener. Knife was just right but instead of a sharpener they shipped a folding torx set which does come in handy with a Benchmade and it was more expensive than the sharpener by a few dollars.

No big deal but I wanted the sharpener so I called cust service. They said no problem - just ship it all back and they would reship. I needed the knife for a gift and didn't have time so I told him no big deal forget it. he said wait a minute that he could do something. While we were on the phone I bought the sharpener and as soon as it processed he credited my acct for amount of purchase - made if free and he told me to keep the torx set. I thought that was a little above and beyond. :)

I have that song sung by Van Morrison at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert- it's a bootleg so it's hard to find but he does an excellent job with it.

The positive responses for Amazon Prime have impressed and influenced me. Most likely I'll buy it when the free trial ends. The wealth of knowledge and experience here is truly amazing. Thanks.
