Annoyed at thread drift

Monday a friend, a man I knew for over sixty years, died at 86. He was the founder and, for 58 years, the director of a concert choir in which I sang from ages 16 to 20. My late brother and I anchored the bass section for much of that time (we could both hit notes only elephants and seismographs could hear), and he and his wife stayed in the group for years after I moved on. Tomorrow I'll attend Dave's funeral, with many thoughts about my years under his direction, and many memories of my brother.

I've always loved this song; but today is the first time since my big old little brother Gerry died, a year and a half ago, that I've been able to listen to it. Gerry loved it too.

So this is for that wonderful mentor Dave Jones, and for Gerry.

Beautiful. Poignant. Thank you for sharing. We are all but a mist...here only for a moment.

Some good music today as usual but couldn't listen to all of it. It's the connection thing again.

Some people buying guns some listening to music and the rest of us just trying to get by. I wish I could buy another gun budget just won't allow it at this time.

Heard Dolly Parton again today singing The Ballad of The Green Beret and she does a good job of it. Lady supports our troops and that's a good thing so many don't anymore.

Well I think I will slid out of the drift for another day and leave it to you folks that like to stay up late. Stay safe and warm and beware the hoards.

Only way I can buy a different gun is to sell one. My buddy wanted one of my semi-autos he shot so he bought it. He shot it better than me anyhow. I got a Colt revolver to replace it. I enjoy the wheeling and dealing and will sell most anything if I can make a little on the deal...after all, I need a little profit to buy ammo.

I know some guys won't part with any gun. Well, my grandpa and dad were not gun collectors so they didn't pass guns on to me. As a result, I am not sentimentally attached to the guns I have. If somebody eventually wants this Colt more than me...let the dealing begin. First guy that wants to drop 5 bills or more can get themselves a Colt snubby. Then I can start the search all over again. I'm pretty sure I ain't losing money on a Colt until the apocalypse is upon us. Won't matter then.

Now to find some grips.
