I am thankful my mom is still around. I know the word "awesome" is overused, but my mom really is awesome. She never criticized my best efforts, and she never sugar-coated my lack of effort. She stuck up for me when I was wronged, and she corrected me when I was wrong. She didn't raise me to be dependent on her; she raised me to live a God-directed life dependent upon Him...even though it took me from her. She will always love me, and though I say it far too seldom, I will always love her. She's 80 years of real deal. God bless her.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

My mom will be 83 on July 4th. (Her first year in the states, dad told her all the parties were for her)

She is one of the most well read and sarcastically witted people I know. She constantly tries to 'one up' me and usually does.

Here she is at dinner earlier tonight right before she made me choke on my McNuggets.

I'm fortune that my maw is still with us as well. She says she's still a youngin at 73.
I ain't got no pics of her to share though. She told me once that if I ever posted a pic of her out on the google she'ed woop the tar out of me. HaHa
Ya gotta love the old girls tenacity!!

Went visitin' my wife's side of the family.
Her mom liked the lasagna and I ended up stuffing myself.

The roadtrip was mostly uneventful.

There was a moment that did spike my heart rate.
As we were headed home and in a residential neighborhood, a youngster ran out from behind a parked car right in front of our truck.
I hit the brakes, jerked the wheel and missed him.
Got out to make sure he was okay.
It's a big truck and that was a small child. I was thinking that I might have knocked him a bit and not feel it.
I was assured the youngster was fine.
As we drove on my wife looked back and said he was getting his butt whacked.

I'm checking the video from the dash cam.

The last time I tried a green back offer, the LGS had a new in box pistol I had decided to purchase. They were asking $200.00 OVER MSRP, I could buy it online for $200.00 UNDER MSRP including shipping and paperwork expence.

I offered them $150.00 UNDER MSRP cash and showed them a printout of the same exact pistol from online seller.

They told me "cash is no longer KING, this is our price, go ahead and buy the one from online dealer!"

Needless to say, I did and have not set foot in that LGS since!
For anything.

End rant.

I'll bet ya' everyone on here has one of those LGS close to
them that fit this bill.

Thankfully i am lucky to be in an
area of Indiana where i have made friends with numerous
good shops. I visit 3-4 frequently and do business when i can
with all of them.
They all treat me as a valued customer and friend. I know the
owners by first name and will generally always get a little
knocked off a tag price if they have room on it. This comes
with trust and time.
Occasionally walking in the door and seeing a gun, or ammo
with a price that is fair or more than fair, i won't try and chew him down any. I'm sure they appreciate that as well.
Sorry you had a bad experience there jell-dog.
Hope you got some other good shops around you.

It's been my experience that every once in awhile you just
catch a guy in a bad mood. Happens to everyone.

Well said Paul.

I am also grateful for the "everything" my Mom gave me.
I could tell her I Love her everyday and it wouldn't be enough.
She's 75 and hanging in there old school style.

I have been Blessed.

Check this out.
I just found the dash cam video segment.
As we were backing out of the driveway. The mileage from our last fill up was 131.3 miles.
1313
The video segment with the near miss is 14830013 ends in 13.
Gotta watch out for those unlucky numbers.
Watch your step on Friday.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

I frequent one LGS where the owner has zero congeniality and annoys people regularly. His interpersonal skills are sorely lacking. With that said, he's direct and you don't have to guess what he's thinking. He'll always work a better cash price with you, but he knows he can't beat the internet pricing. He deeply resents this predicament, and he freely voices his vehemence about the situation. But you know what? He has the fairest prices on used guns that I can find locally...and that's gold for someone who enjoys revolvers that are no longer rolling out of the factory. So if I do an internet deal, I have an FFL that welcomes transfer transactions, but I still know which LGS is my go-to for looking up used stuff.

Just pretend this is hwitty.
