Today, all I had was a granola bar, one banana and a glass of water.
Then I went for a nice long hike in the mountains.
After my wife came home from work, the sun was still shining so we both went for a hike.
Checking my LifeTrak watch, I hiked a total of 6.08 miles, 15,272 steps and burned 2,736 calories.
So how did I end up gaining a pound?

Your weight will fluctuate during the day depending on fluid lose and intake. I weigh first thing in the morning after peeing, but before eating or drinking anything. Years ago I'd weigh just before going to sleep then weigh again first thing in the morning and found I usually lost two pounds overnight. The weigh came back after drinking some fluids. You lose fluids even when exhaling. One day down a lifetime to go.

I have not had much to say today, but I feel obligated to keep up with the story of the USS Yolo. So back to Okinawa this date 1945:

May 23, 1945

By morning the wind dropped but the rain continued. A rumor persists that the Japanese have put out peace feelers. Pilots from Guam say the war will be over soon. Tokyo even broadcasts that a peace movement is growing in Japan. Those of us who have been here since 1 April see no justification for the rumor, but who knows. Small ships coming alongside for provisions complain of their serious operational defects that have developed because of the long period without adequate upkeep. The lack of replacement parts and damaged equipment is serious. Such difficulties keep badly needed patrol craft out of service. Many PCs and SCs report they have had no opportunity for maintenance in over a month. Bombardment vessels complain because of a shortage of star shells and ammunition.

Weight of air
Perhaps a volume of air of 64 x 64 x 64 meters doesn't look so impressive. What about the weight of all this air? Actually, air is much heavier than you would expect. The density of air at sea level is about 1.2 kg/m3. Our lifetime of breathing (about 265,083 m3) thus involves about 318,100 kg of air. So if you weigh 70 kg you breathe over 4,500 times your own weight in your lifetime. You breathe about 13 kg of air per day, which is more than you eat...."

Therefore you breathed too much! Exercise is not the panacea of good health. 😙 Too much breathing too fast! Slow down and drift, everything will become harmonious and your self will thank you. (Drift humor?) Said previously, but my Dad said the secret to life is too keep breathing! But he did not mention breathing and gaining weight!
Also math is not harmonious...!

Knowledge. Knowledge is heavy, man. I learned that while smoking brisket.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

I've done enough scuba diving to be able the tell the difference in the weight between empty and full air tanks. It's not the air that is Snubby's problem. Water weights roughly 8.2 lbs per gallon.

Drinking alcoholic beverages over the weekend most likely dehydrated him a bit. Salting his steaks and eating granola most likely increased his body's sodium levels and pushed up his fluid holding capacity. Granola often is high in sodium. He simply got a weight reading to start when he was not fully hydrated.

I've found that weight loss is not a linear progression. My weight may hold steady for days even though I staying on my diet and exercise plan. Then I'll lose weight rapidly and get stuck for a while at a new weight.

But I do agree with you! 😀

So a pawn shop up the street from the plant just started selling guns...not good for an addict...today they had a nickel safety hammerless for $400 way high in my opinion...they also had a 3 inch 36 sq butt.. looks like it had never been fired.. guy says it's like new, but was stored in a basement..pitting on the cylinder and barrel....not new in my book.

Hey-hey 'n Howdy, Drifters!
What a beautiful evening.
I hope all y'all are doin' well, and send prayers up for those who aren't, or could just use a bit of celestial assistance.
I have a really hard time, sometimes, remembering we're not set here to serve our own purposes,
but to help each other get past the pitfalls of being human.

One pitfall of being human is temptation, and falling victim to such.
Now I find myself attracting strange vintage rifles. I do not go looking for said firearms, they seem to find me.
Which brings on other pitfalls, such as, it's missing one of the sights,
either front or rear, or as in my Remington 511, both front AND rear. (Remedied recently.)
Or the magazines are made of unobtainium.
Do I pass? Heavens no! I just leave it to the universe to supply the needed parts, and put the thing on layaway.

I think I need to help the cosmic forces a bit these days. Pardon me while I go post in the "Wanted to Buy" classifieds. ;)
