Been there, done that...

That's a sight to make a grown man cry :(

We're back. The trail we explored was in the wildlands. I'm sure it's used by hunters.
Just goes in a way and stops.
Nice walk in the woods though.
I'm thinking of fixing my LifeTrak watch. I'd be interested in knowing how far we hiked today.

One of the 'Killer Apps' that I use that sold me on smartphones is called Map My Walk (Run, Hike, Ride). It uses the GPS in the phone, plus the phone's motion detectors, and other sensors to track your walk, run, hike, bike ride). I have mine set to store the data on the phone until I get a wi-fi connection and tell it to upload the data. The workout info is sent to the Map My Walk website and my account is updated. It is a free ad supported app and does not use any of my cell phone time or data allotments. The screen shot of my walk this morning is only a small sample of the data I can pull up about my walk.

That actually sounds pretty cool.
First I'd need to get a smartphone.
I traded a coupla knife sheaths for the Watch. It just needs a battery.

Interestingly my investment account was up yesterday double what it's down so far today. Maybe I get lucky once...

When I lose money on my 401k when it comes back the stock prices are lower were actually buying more for less money. Then as the market climbs this is where we make the real money. We double ++++++ our investment. A slow steady increase is good the market is more stable.

Had my first fancy cheeseburger. I put a fried egg, cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayo on a hard roll. I'm never a go all out guy.

We gave up buying the local market eggs since there older and the store switches the dates. I buy local farm fresh eggs now. I try to eat fresh eggs everyday now.

I once took a door-to-door sales job. Selling doors.

Didn't last long, which was just as well. The sample case weighed six hundred pounds.

I seem to be writing a lot of strange stuff today. Fortunately this seldom lasts long.

My very first job was carrying the basket for the fuller brush guy.
My second job was carrying the basket for the Charlie's chip guy.
He sent me to the truck to wait many times while he went inside. Didn't have to think much about that.

Back to this date 1945 on the USS Yolo off the invasion beaches of Okinawa... from the diary of C. Homer Bast, my father's Commanding Officer.

June 24, 1945

This is Sunday holiday routine. Before noon, the Army chaplain on board last week came again, held services and stayed for lunch, along with three officers who had a part in the ship’s conversion. We told them what was wrong and right - it was a good meeting. Preparations are complete for the heavy weather ahead. Not only will the waves increase but the wind will gust to 35 knots, so goes the forecast. The weather kicked up so much this afternoon we halted ships from coming alongside. Buckner Bay on the east side is fast becoming the main anchorage. The western side is declining in importance.

The escort carriers were released from the Okinawa scene and the coverage of Sakishima was assumed by Taffy.

They'll probably ride the fence till the last second...opting for the best choice for them. We all know how wrapped up in themselves penguins are...I did reach out, but my calls weren't returned; apparently, penguins don't remember when someone does them a favor, either. I'll keep you posted...

Darn Penguins !!
They think they're better than other flightless birds because
of the whole tuxedo thing.
Sneaky little boogers. I don't trust them. Watch your back Tim.

Good Luck on getting your boat back and on the water
there brigeton.
I know how tough it is to be waiting on a repair while you
really want to get out and get going.
Local mechanic had my truck for three days last week
trying to locate some U-bolts to hold the rear axle.
It's an older model (1995) that i use for hauling wood,
hunting, taking my Kayak to the lake etc...
Not an everyday driver but you always need something
when is seems to be unavailable.

Friday is almost done and so am I! Was a hot one today and I squeezed in mowing about 3/4 acre in front of the shop as well as the regular stuff. The way the weather has been I try to get it done every chance I get or it becomes a hay cutting. Have to do the A/C on my truck,I have a leak that am pretty sure is in the compressor. Guess I will check it out to be sure.to hot to go without it even for a few days! Drift on!
