It's so stiff that I can't spread the compartment open.

Beside chewing on it, what can I use to soften it?
Can't really say for sure. I have heard that people use neatsfoot oil to soften stiff leather.

We always use to use Neatsfoot Oil on our baseball gloves to keep them soft and we used to use it on any leather equipment in the firehouse, so I would say it should help you but you may have to keep working it in! ;)

It was a busy day and now the granddaughter is home, the wife and I have a quiet house again, miss her already! ;)
Drifted out to the motorhome for a little deep relaxation! :D in the middle of some passing thunderstorms. Well anyway that's a wrap, goodnight everybody and hope you have a great Monday! ;)

Hey Isis, Tell us about your sporty. My third MC was a brand new '71 XLH. Was so stable at around 45 mph I learned to ride it while standing on the seat. ALWAYS have loved the look of Sportsters. To me, they are far more American classic muscle than the lumbering big twins.

My first Sporty was '98 883 Hugger. I did many a loooong trip on him. Hated to part with him. Tell y'all the story of that sometime.
My latest is an '08 1200L. Super Low. But not low enough. Ended up putting shorter shocks on 'er, and lowering the forks.
She's set up like Eagle was, for long distance rides.
The '98 had a 3.3 gal tank, the '08s got a 4.3. I get almost 200 miles on a tank.

Drifter's got an Ironhead too, loeman. Betty. '75. XLH. Blue. Almost all original. And an '08 1200R.
Got any video of your daredeviling? That'd be cool to see.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on your Sportster admiration! :D

Off to the salt mines! Later, Drifters! Keep cool today.

Missed the drift yesterday and just getting caught up,glad it wasn't longer,it took me a half hour with no detours. Granddaughters wore me out and headed home last night but will be back Friday night for next weekend! Monday is here again and a new week is starting and I have a lot on my plate,I just haven't been able to get anything done recently due to any number of excuses! Hope everyone has a good week!

ral, yes I know what you mean!while mine is only 4 hrs away it is a pain! I doubt as a family we will ever spend Christmas Eve or Christmas Day with them. My son in laws folks are all up in Mass so they spend a lot of travel time if they want to see everybody on the holidays.
My daughter was just talking to us about buying a home with them with a separate parents quarters with a hook up for my motorhome! Sounded like a plan but I will not move to the draconian state of Maryland!
So for now we just do what we have to do?
