Well, you went and done did it anyways!!!!
Over 10 years ago I was able to see Iron Butterfly at the Iowa ABATE Freedom Rally in Humboldt, IA (before rally moved to Anamosa, IA):D
They played In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, the LOOOOONG version, like you only get at live concerts.
The album version is 17 min 6 sec long, they played for 28 min PLUS:eek:
Every band member did a kick donkey solo:D:D

That's almost as long as Arlo's "Alice's Restaurant". :D

16 days with the temperature below normal here! Wish the weather would drift out but maybe Thursday they are saying. Big football this evening.

BEWARE........
Beware the Cassowary!

It seems a cassowary has been spotted lurking in the forum.
This is a serious matter.

While shy and difficult to spot, you can recognize one by the following:

Anywhere from 1 metre to over 2 metres, depending on species.
I expect we're dealing with Casuarius bennetti, here.

All have loose barbules and absolutely no retrices. You wouldn't want one hanging around your children!

Their furcula are degenerate.

They are frugivorous, the animals.

Their feet have mutated, and they only have three toes per foot, with the medial toe ending in a dagger-like claw.

They can run very fast, so always have a slow friend with you when one is in your area. They are also excellent swimmers.

When spotted in public, they seem to like wearing silly looking casques on their heads.

They appear to be not overly intelligent. They have been seen running at full speed through brush with their heads down, resulting, of course, in their plowing straight into trees.

They are very dangerous.
If you should spot a cassowary, do not attempt to capture it yourself! This could result a vicious kick to the nether regions (yours!).

Call Dexjos Cassowary Removal Service. 011-675-838-9000

They are proven ratites, and are to be avoided at all costs!

I had an encounter with one (Casuarius unappendiculatus) many years ago while I was hunting equally elusive Thesauri in the Yapen lowlands. (.375 H&H Magnum, of course.) Not something I'd ever want to repeat.

You have been warned!

So, Boatme99, you're saying that Shoulda is a ratite? And I never suspected...shocking, indeed. Oh well. I'll get out the elephant gun & dust off my "Cooking with Cassowary's" cook book. This is the perfect time of year for Ratite Remolade.

The only recepie I've ever seen for cassowary the states:

Place cassowary in large pot of boiling water, with a good sized rock.
When the rock is edible, the cassowary will be, too.

I think I'll pass. Besides, I kinda like SZ'd. He puts up with my carp.

Perhaps an Emu Encroute.
Penguin Pot Pie?
Kiwi Custard?
