Wow! I watched a "Great Performances" hour on PBS tonight, Annie Lennox, looking and sounding wonderful. Her pitch wasn't dead perfect; but I have a picky ear, and Lennox is sixty. It was still great despite sound mixing that was too heavy on the instrumental accompaniment.

She did a devastating rendition of "Strange Fruit" that made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, a fine "I Cover The Waterfront", and a fantastic "Summertime". The songs were from her recent album "Nostalgia", much of which was a selection of her childhood favorites.

All in all it was an hour very well spent. She is a hell of a show woman.

EDITED TO ADD: She also did a wonderful "Mood Indigo"--not an easy song to sing well.

My coffee and the drift should get me going this morning! Temperature supposed to fall during the day to the 60's has been up to 80's lately, spring has set in and everything is greening and growing. The live oaks are dropping stuff everywhere outside ,looks sort of like brown snow.

Time to start painting!

What an exciting day. Our clothes dryer took a crapolla and spent a good part of the day troubleshooting it and then buying a replacement!
So we replaced both washer and dryer with two brand new "Made in America" with pride Maytag's. ;)
I like that big Made in America sticker on the front of both units! :)

Good evening, fellow Drifters. Have a Happy Easter/Passover.
My sweety's croci are up! (Yes, croci is an excepted plural of crocus. :D )
My daffs are trying their best. But there was so much snnnn, snnn, white frozen stuff, and hence,
an over abundance of moisture, that I think a few of them lost the overwintering battle.
I won't be able to tell where the gaps in the lines are until there are more showing, but hey,
there're green shoots all over my flower beds! YAY!
