Breakfast was at 4:15 AM. The fitness apps on my moderately intelligent phone indicate I walked 10 miles today. The chores are done and it is Friday! So it's Beer Time in Houston. :D

I'm still on the trail of Revolver Brewing's brews. I have one more place to check before going downtown where I know they have it.

Today's selection is Josephsbrau (Trader Joe's) Dunkelweizen. It''s an unfiltered dark wheat beer brewed using Hefeweizen yeast. It's an interest brew, a bit tart, with no offensive characteristics to my taste. I'd drink it again, but probably not buy it again, even at the $1 a bottle I paid for it.

Stay tune, today will be a two-fer Friday.

Cheers!

For the second beer of the day, I thought another Josephsbrau offering would be nice. This one is their Heller Bock.

Trader Joe's moved into my neighborhood about 2 1/2 years ago. Over those 2 1/2 years, I've sampled many of their private label offerings. They do Bocks/Maibocks/Helles Bock beers very well.

If your only experience with Bock beer is Shiner Bock you may be surprised that true bocks have a bit more flavor and punch.

I have a three-year old nephew's birthday party to attend tomorrow. So it is a two-fer today.

By-the-way... I'm taking him a 6-pack of Saint Arnold Ale Wagger.

Cheers!
