...four of us guys would pile in a car and head to the drive-in movies armed with these...except the bottles weren't twist off cap...had to take a church key...

The New Jersey fired some of those at the NVA in the AShau Valley in 68 iirc. You could here them going by,they kept the troops very far away! Way cool to shoot shells that weigh more than some small cars!16 inch shell
This is a 2,700 lb. AP (armor piercing) shell. The battleship guns that fired it have a maximum range of 40,185 yards (23 miles). The AP round will penetrate 30 feet of concrete. In Vietnam, single rounds were used to clear 200-yard diameter landing Zones in triple-canopy jungle. The rounds made craters 50 feet wide and over 20 feet deep. These pictures are from a military vehicle museum the American Society of Military History based in South El Monte, CA

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrCPIrs90eg[/ame]Does anyone know the approximate mark up of a shot of Tangueray Vodka from what I would cost in a fifth bottle in a discount store, to what it costs in a typical bar on a per ounce basis? I could probably do the math if I knew what a shot goes for in a bar, but that much math on an empty stomach always gives me a headache.

Weekend pleasure on a large scale came from one of these!
Since I appear to be among experts, could anyone tell me if you can still buy beer by the quart bottle. Used to that was a primary way of buying it, a quart bottle in a paper bag and down the sidewalk I would stumble. But I have not seen it in a quart bottle in Decades. It could be I just don't go into liquor stores any more or maybe they were discontinued?
As a kid we could get a quart of cold Pearl beer to go for about 50 cents, brown bag included.
Usually depending on how many we'd also have several cases!Snubby,Just one?
That's fine for me but what are the rest of y'all gonna drink?

I just need to know how much money I could save drinking a fifth at home alone, rather than drinking a fifth one shot at a time in a high class bar so I can prove how much money my drinking has saved.

If it will penetrate 30 feet of concrete why was the hole in the ground only 20 feet deep? I mean come on now, concrete is a lot harder and tougher than dirt in most areas.

Back "in the day", my herbal adventures were most often accompanied with a fine wine, Yago Sangria, Strawberry Hill, Boones Farm & my personal favorite, Bali Hai. These early experiences with the vintner's art forever influenced my taste buds, & now if a wine doesn't taste like soda pop I probably won't like it. My Dad likes the super dry stuff, & I'll drink it every now & then, but in my mind I hear that old song from South Pacific: Bali Hai, is calling...
