Annoyed at thread drift

Anxiety...anxiety...anxiety, drives me awake, then I breakfast and internet for a couple of hours. Much to do, much distraction.
Geoff
Who better go do...various things.
I'm up early on weekends too. My brain thinks every day is a work day.
My body disagrees. The brain usually wins the argument.
Especially when there's enough daylight to see at 5:31 AM.

I have various things to do too! One of them is laundry.
Drifter fixed the washing machine. I am doubly grateful I can do laundry in my own home.
The whole block of buildings where my old laundromat was was torn down recently.
I've always been wary of laundromats. I suppose if I sat down and actually thought about it,
I could maybe come up with a reason why.
But I don't have time right now. Gotta go do laundry.

Nice pics, raljr1! I'd like to have dinner in Morocco. Mebee someday.

I'm up, too. Maybe not walking & talking...but awake. My sleep habits have become increasingly strange. I get home from the retirement place my Mom is at a little after two PM. About four I start fighting to stay awake. I try & stay up till eleven or twelve, & I just know that I'll be able to sleep. Wrong! If I do fall asleep, it's only for an hour or two, then I'm wide awake. About four or five AM I might be able to drift off, but only for an hour or so. I'm dreading it, but I think I'm going to have to do another sleep study. They wire you up like a stereo, to where you can hardly move, and then tell you to try & fall asleep as normally as possible. Sure, no problem. So, the cycle starts again...

Good morning drift! Hope every has a good Mothers Day,hope all the mothers especially realize how important they are. I was a lucky kid who had a good mother and grandmother as well as aunts who raised me and loved me. Having kids who turn out well is dependent on good mothers. Drift on,don't worry,be happy.

Good morning all,,, And Happy Mothers Day !
Looks like a great day here in my new neighborhood! I actually see Sunshine! :D No rain, no rain clouds! Pure sunshine!
Lots to see, Lots to do,,,got to get moving! :D

Have a great day and drift on! ;)

Wow. Took a while to catch up, keep rereading some of the drift when the impact of the stories of faith, fortitude, foreign follies and fun stuff from the forum faithful gives me pause, as in the strong stuff from Rusty.
Wishing a Happy belated Birthday to Chuck, continued prayer for Candi's fight and one up from here for brigeton's son in law's upcoming battles.

Would like to give a moment of reflection to the Mom's out there who are deserving of this one day of appreciation for what they have done. Heads up fellas, if you feel like ever choking your offspring, chances are it's not all your wife's fault so give a little something of yourself today because a tick mark in our favor is always a good thing.

Good morning all! 😀
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers! 😀
High 50's here, some rain last night, the rumbling stayed to the north, but could be heard, even without aid!

The theme seems to be people? I am of the opinion that is why the drift is continuing, and doing so well, the people! Everyone works with everyone! Foibles come up, reviewed and discussed, some humor thrown about, and everyone chuckles! Occasionally a solution comes out, sometimes it is confirmed 'we' are one drop short of a puddle, maybe piddle?

If concern is needed, if comfort is needed, then it comes out, but with a light touch!
History, relationships, travel, flora and fauna, fears, joys, food, weather, pets, and some lite reference to the avian side of life, it is here! 🔣

Where else can so much knowledge about the patient side of medicine, aging , illness, and care be shown drifting about! ⏳
Gremlins exist, but again drifting in and out. 😯 🚾

After all an armed society is a polite society ! 🔫

Much catching up to do.........
Made a quick scroll thru the past several pages.

Nude gardening, Ewwww!
My shop is located in a mostly residential area, the next door neighbor is somewhat of a nudist. Not a pretty sight, he is in his 70's.
Thank goodness he put up a privacy fence around his hot tub. Gardens and mows yard in a speedo. Of course, if the sight was good I could get very distracted!

Have 14 yr old grandson this weekend, range had a family night Friday night, Mexican food, free gun rentals, free targets. He went thru 250 rounds of .22, mostly with my little Browning lever action, some with .22 handguns too. He tried a Heritage (?) cowboy action, long barrel. He shot it really well but didn't like the loading & clearing process. Spoiled by my K-22!

I tried a couple of 1911's. They don't have much, shot a Ruger, which was OK. And an ATI, smooth action for a low end 1911 but too light weight, I get too much barrel lift.
I am on a serious hunt for the "right for me" 1911. A local gun shop has a Springfield Range Officer Operator, feels good in hand and slide is easy to operate. Looked at some Kimbers but slides seemed really hard to rack. 3 gun shops and not a Colt in sight. One more local shop to check out. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. I do want full size.

Listed a Harley on Craigslist for a friend so am getting bombarded by scammers, imagine that!

That's all for now.

The Springfield Range Officer is a GREAT pistol. Grab it if you can. I say this as an owner of 25 1911's, the most recently acquired (yesterday) being a Springfield Armory Range Officer Compact.

Are you sure they were crows? Could have been tall emu!

They were crows, all right. See picture of thug on left.

It is currently my top contender. I would love to buy local but Bud's has it for $125 less, that is too much to leave on the table.
But will try a green back cash offer here first.

There is something humorous about a scammer; a lady who runs a pawnshop looking for a nice .45 acp, already regularly uses a .41 mag; and a Harley for sale! 😄
Made for a movie, or TV!
Is backup immediately available should conditions dictate? 😉

Backup? Does a 2 1/2 inch Model 66 loaded with with .357 pass muster? Or if more distance is needed a Ruger .357 Blackhawk.

I do get a kick out of dealing with scammers, 15 years selling & buying on eBay has taught me well.

And the lady drives a 4X4 pickup and when the weather is nice one of 2 sports cars. Going to try my hand(and feet) at Autocross next month.

BCC is definitely the 1911 afficianado in the drift...so what he said.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

I'll see if I can get someone to take a picture of Dad and I together tomorrow. He may or may not feel like having his picture taken. I'll ply him with beer.

Well here goes.

My father had been in Army ROTC in high school. The University of Texas had a Naval ROTC program, no Army ROTC. He entered college prior to Pearl Harbor and was accepted for 1 of the available 100 slots in the Naval ROTC program. There was a draft at the time, joining the NROTC was joining the Navy as an officer candidate.

My nephew did a good job with the picture with his phone, his subjects just cannot smile on command.

Tim,
Have you tried a little nip of some scotch or brandy
right before turning in? Even if you are not a drinker
it might help you get to sleep and stay asleep longer.
My grandpaw used to swear by a shot of Southern Comfort
right before bed time. That was about the only drinking
he did except for an occasional mixed drink during the holidays.

Chuck
