Annoyed at thread drift

Lot of good stuff on here tonight from knives, guns, funnies, music, nudist parties and dogs that lick bare body parts. That could be embarrassing to say the least.

The temp in the desert today was only about 107 so about normal for this time of the year. The weatherman/woman/person says by Sunday or Monday we should see over 120 degrees. Just in time for the actual start of summer.

Col Francis I. Fenton (kneeling) at the funeral for his son Michael, an infantryman in B 1/5 who was killed in action on Okinawa. At the time, Col Fenton was the Engineer Officer for the 1st MarDiv. Col Fenton's other son was also career Marine, as was his grandson. Col Fenton later said the other men who died on Okinawa weren't so fortunate as Mike, who "at least had his father there to pray over his body at the end."

The Japanese had not gotten the memo that the war was over. :(

Good morning all. It's 79 degrees and 90% humidity here in Houston. The weather talkers want you to think it 'feels like' a pizza oven when it's really more like a rice cooker. That's why I get up early and get my chores done early. I've got to go get my morning walk done. Each of you have a great day!

Good morning fellow hoomans. Last day off from work, got up to make coffee and finish a few things leftover from yesterday I heard the news a 4 to 7 ft. gator snatched a 2 year old from a family at a Disney resort about 2130 local yesterday. Less than a foot of water, dad right there, probably dark and posted no swimming.
Absolutely tragic.

Good morning all, hope everyone made it through the night and is ready for hump day. It is a double hump day as it is also the middle of the month. That used to matter to me but I really don't keep track of the day's much anymore except to be grateful for each one. Drifting on I just saw an ad from a big western wear store that they have a sale on boots and I need a new pair. Had some strange things go on with all my devices last night, they all went goofy then went back to normal, foil hat time? Drift on,don't worry,be happy.

News here just reported the gator attack, they used to show up at my old job in a series of ponds that connected to contain run off. Some times they would be large and would have to be removed. Some how they crossed busy roads that you wouldn't try to cross on foot. A real wonder that they didn't get one of the scientists who wandered around the ponds at lunch time as most were not the outdoors types. Terrible thing for the parents of the child.

Good morning everyone,,,,hope everyone is well and had a good night.
Tragic tail coming out of Disney about the gator grabbing a 2 yr. old! How sad and the parents being there as it happened! With Disney being so thorough on things this does somewhat surprise me but hey it's gator country!
My thoughts and condolences go out to that family! :(

Another great day is starting here 63 degrees on what use to be a deck! But progress is being made and I'm happy about that! ;)

Hoping everyone has a good day,,, and hey lets be careful with all those pocket knives! :D

Stay cool and drift on!

Good Morning Y'all:

It's Wendsday all day long. I have absolutely nothing planned to do today. And that's exactly what I'm doing. NOTHING! I haven't been all through the house yet, to see how many notes, wifey the post it note queen left for me today? I'll just pretend I didn't see em.

Supposed to storm today? Just checked radar? Nothing within 200 miles of us? Also looks like now, they even dropped the percentage? From 90% to 60%. Who knows, who cares? Probably waiting on the afternoon heat. I can't do a dang thing about it. If the weather fools can't predict the weather with they're 300 million trillion dollar Doppler Radar, what can I do about it. I still say the ole drunk weather man, when I was little kid, hit the weather here, more that these weather idiots. And all he had was a ink pen and a note pad. And a bad fitting suit, that always looked like he slept on!

So while I lounge around in my lion print under roo's today. I hope everyone else gets all the chores y'all have on your list done today. Y'all do have lists right? Oh, that's right. I'm the only one married to wifey, the queen of post it notes!

So enjoy your day! Stay safe, stay well. And be sure to Check your lion print under roo's. Mine has a tendency to make a roaring noise, from time to time. I guess that's what that noise is, coming from my drawers?

Have A Great Day!

Seems the weather gods are pissed off around here. Storms last week and again yesterday. 2nd one yesterday caused a lot of damage. 70-80 mph winds,
lots of rain (up to 5 inches), tornadoes. I lucked out both at the shop
and at home with no real damage. But others not so lucky. Lots of
downed trees, docks torn out, boats sunk or banged up, farm buildings
blown away. Lots of power outages. Thankfully the weather forecast
for the next week is pretty clear so hope things settle down.

Lake water levels are very high which increase the shoreline damage.
If the levels go up much more there will be a "No Wake" mandate which in effect shuts down all boating & jet skiing. Had that happen in 1993, not good for the economy in a late resort area.

But least we don't have 'gators! Once in a while a huge northern pike or
catfish that I wouldn't care to encounter unless it was on the end of a verrry strong fishing line.

The one thing the weather talkers failed to warn everybody about the heat and humidity this morning was temporary heat index blindness. I spent maybe 15 minutes in Trader Joe's, walked outside, and instantly I could not see! Danged glasses completely fogged over. Pulled the glasses off and I could see again! For people that need to be reminded to drink fluids on a hot day, not being forewarned of the high likelihood of eye-wear fog-over could be deadly.

Just returning from the Hospital to see Isaac who was in the bad
car wreck last night. BTW, Thanks for all the prayers.
Isaac was a passenger in the back seat. Two brothers occupied
the front seat. The driver was clowning around and going too
fast for the old county road. Hit a cement culvert approach and
the car flipped 3 times. All three boys had on seat belts which no
doubt saved a couple of lives.
I was proud to learn today that Isaac somehow got his seat belt
undone and managed to kick a hole in the back window to get
out of the car. He then checked on the two brothers in the front seat
to make sure they were breathing then he took off on foot to the nearest
house. He was barefoot as he lost his shoes kicking his way thru the
glass. He got to the first house and nobody was home.
Covered in blood, cuts, bruises and barefoot, he then ran quarter a mile
down the road to the next house where they then phoned for help.
Isaac's phone was lost somewhere inside the wreckage of the car and
he didn't think he could waste the time looking around for it so he
took off running to get help for his friends. I knew he was an amazing
young man.
Anyways Isaac is pretty cut up and has deep bruising from the seat
belts on his neck and chest. A three inch gash on his knee has been
stitched up and the Doctor is going to release him today.
Thank You Lord !!
The two brothers in the front seat still need our prayers.
One is in surgery and one is still unresponsive.
Hopefully their seat belts will also save their lives.
Again Thank You so much to those who sent a good word up
last evening and those who will today.
I wouldn't ask for myself but for these young men with their
whole lives ahead of them, i will.

Wifey, The Post It Note Queen:

Just found my notes for the day.

Note #1) Empty all the trash out of the house, trash man runs tomorrow. (She's goofy, I know the trash man comes every Thursday and has since we've lived here)

Note#2) if you get out, buy some stamps. I need them before Friday.

Note#3) we need dish washing detergent.

Note#4) call your doctor about test results from 2 weeks ago.

So these are scattered all over, my desk. My end table where I sit, on the kitchen counter. Probably more places, that I'm not going to look.

My posted notes to her, placed on the back side of her's. Left on our dresser, were she puts her purse.

#1) Sure

#2) I didn't go out

#3) see note #2

#4) for the 10th time, they'll call me if any problems or questions!!!

It pisses her off if leave her a note on her notes? But it's OK to leave 5-6 everyday for me? I give up!

I think I may have posted this before, but what the heck--here's a morning eye-opener that doesn't involve the hair of the proverbial pooch:

Mix one 46 ounce bottle of tomato joice with one 14 ounce can of Frank's sauerkraut juice. (Kroger carries it in this area.) Add hot sauce to taste. This is one of the very few places I use a vinegar-based pepper sauce like Frank's or Texas Pete.

Doesn't smell very sweet, but it tastes mighty good and will slap you awake.

I suppose in extremis you could use it as the basis for a Bloody Mary, or Bloody Fräulein Maria. I don't drink anymore, so I can't vouch for that.
