Sounds like downtown Mosul here. The air is damp and heavy and is holding the powder smoke down. Took the dog out to pee just now (he also peed) and it hammered my messed-up lungs.

Wow! All I Can Say Is Wow! Absolutely Beautiful!
This is the first time it was ever fully televised! Even with on and off light rain showers, it looked packed!
Sheryl Crow and the Nashville Orchestra put on a GREAT show. And I think she looks better today than she did 15-20 years ago. And she was wearing tight tight Red, White and Blue pants. Dang, she looked good!!
I hope everyone had a FANTASTIC 4th! i know, WE DID!

Good morning, Drifters - on my way to work. Heavy rains and fog made the morning drive to the train "interesting," even for someone like myself who's driven police interceptors at 120 mph. Good news is that we desperately need the rain, so I'm going to enjoy it while we have it. See you later.

449 million to the winner of the lottery tonight. I donate to it every once in awhile when it gets to the big numbers. Not a gambler but lightning might strike and it is fun to play the what if game. Have a doctors appointment this morning, so up and getting ready?
Towns around here have fireworks on different nights. Local was July 3rd, and Wellman, about 6 miles from the house, was last night. Heard a little rumble and some flashes from the finale!
66° here, and 100% humidity. Different than the 10% to 30% of the last two weeks!
Just watched Sargent Preston of the Yukon and now watching Lassie, both in B&W.
Sure different than the slam bam, chase oriented TV of today! How did Lassie remain so immaculately groomed chasing around in the wilds? People characters got dirty, did dumb things, got hurt, but Lassie always shined, understood everything said, responded perfectly, and accomplished things! Maybe she should ???????????

I like to play the "what if" game myself. A custom truck, a few guns, but first & foremost, some house remodeling so that we could bring Mom home! I would hire a staff of nurses for her, & I already know who a couple of them would be. Man, that would be great!

Good morning fellow drifters! 
Well it seems we had a good rain come through here last night. As BCC stated we really needed it! The day just doesn't know which way it wants to go though?
Well here we are at day 1 with the granddaughter (solo) and this should be fun! This isn't the first time I might add! We are having our breakfast of Cocoa Krispies and a glass of milk! Along with her breakfast she is watching Zootopia on her IPad! 
At this point I don't know what the rest of the day may bring?
Can't wait until she's old enough to take her to the range and to start teaching her in the ways of target shooting

I hope everyone got their fill of fireworks yesterday? I know I did! They blasted here till about 2:15 am! And it rained on and off all night.
They said it was record sales for our area this year. I sure believe it!
I'm over it! And hope they got it out of they're systems? But I doubt it. There is always left overs.
So to those going back to work today, be safe and take it nice and slow, like it was a typical Monday (I know it's Tuesday) and don't let the Boss give you any lip! Tell him/she your head hurts, from all the Damn fireworks!
For those like Wifey that's off the rest of the week. Get out and enjoy your well deserved time off!
In a few hours we're headed to Kings Island Amusement Park in Ohio. Wifey is packing. I've already went and got the rental, this morning. Enterprise messed up. I prepaid for a SUV. I go there and they said I reserved a mid sized sedan? Luckily I printed my copy of the contract and it said SUV! So after a brief STERN discussion with the regional manager (thank goodness, I remembered to take my copy) So Instead of a Small SUV or Mini Van. I got a 2016 Escalade! With 3600 miles. Super Nice. Beautiful Black and even has built in WiFi! All for the same price I was originally quoted, for a small SUV. It'll cost Just a few more bucks for fuel. But well worth it, when you figure the extra room and comfort.
So off we go! The Grandson is excited! We'll be back Friday, short but sweet!

I just read on another site that National UFO Day was last Friday. I guess I missed another chance to party. I wonder if any aliens came down to party and celebrate? After that long trip they would probably enjoy a cold beer or two.
