Another S&W Goes Bye Bye

Great story. I love the history that goes with firearms. Many times we say "if only it could talk." This one can. You knew the owner, a bit about him and the gun's history. May I suggest that you write all this down for your son? It may not seem interesting now, but in the years to come he'll treasure your story.
 
Great story, anytime we can pass on part of all of our collection to a son, daughter or another relative, it's well worth it. I had a Mod 36 that came out of the factory in the 63-65 time frame. I picked it up in a trade back in the mid 60s. In June of 16 I was able to pass it on to my grand daughter and it now resides with her in Georgia.

Cool post. I like the story. My father is a month older than you and I'm about the same age as your son. I was born in '80.
